Sky (meaning Di Marzio and his understudy Romano) reports that Lautaro to Barcelona is not imminent but it's more "yes" than "no". That Inter will accept maximum of one player and the rest has to be cash. Also that Inter is "slightly" ahead of Juve for Tonali.

I don't like either of these piece of news. I want us to be clearly ahead of Juve for Tonali and I don't want to sell Lautaro, so only release clause cash should be acceptable.

This is expected.

We have Marotta, so we are officially a 'selling club' now that doesn't hand out contracts to deserving players because they have enough time on the deal remaining.

And since we have Marotta, we are also going to take ages to complete deals that should have been done months ago. Tonali was essentially gift wrapped to us in January for a summer move (and it's a good thing we didn't commit due to the covid disaster potentially having an effect) but we have arrived in June with no official agreement yet. This should be concluded before July no matter whent the window opens. We cannot offer players as counterparts since this is a Serie B club essentially, that's their doom and they won't accept it lightly, so it will only stall everything.

Marotta didn't force his way into Inter's management. Someone hired him. And he was hired by the same person who also hired Sabatini, another director who was known about making profits from selling his best players. Furthermore, if what you have said about Icardi is true (I have no reason to say it isn't) we wanted to sell Icardi to Juventus for Higuain plus cash. There was no Marotta at the time and there was no friction with Spalletti yet. It was just Suning. People need to realise Suning plan eventually is making Inter self-financed.

I don't disagree there. That was always my problem with Suning. They don't understand football and club culture. And I was hoping they'd learn it instead of going to hire such people.

Sunning wants the best for inter... it so happens that the best are RuBentinos. They don’t care about the rivalry... maybe now they are starting to realize how big it is....they hired the best people for the job tho.

I still feel it’s too early to judge Marotta, but we definitely are not gonna become a super market.

At the end of the day getting 110 million for Lautaro is a hell of a deal....and it could be a master stroke if we use the money right.

That's always easier said than done though. Tottenham got a haul when they sold Bale, and they got Eriksen as part of that, but they also wasted a decent chunk of that money on the likes of Soldado and Paulinho as well. €160M for Icardi and Lautaro? Sounds good. But those funds are only as useful as what they are spent on.

It also comes with the problem whenever I hear the logic of "sell one €100M player and bring in four €25M players" argument, mainly which is that world class talent costs what it does for a reason. Those are the kinds of players who can win games by themselves. You bring in a lot of solid players and have depth? That works up to a certain point. You aspire to win league titles? You're gonna need more than that.

Interesting to note that if we lose Lautaro Martinez on top of Icardi we won't have an Argentine on the team for the first time since Javier Zanetti arrived in 1995.
Unless of course we bring someone else.

Don't worry, Messi is coming to carry on the tradition.

Enter Nico Tagliafico, the solution to LB/LWB.

Realistically far from attackers Messi, Dybala and Aguero ... plus of course Lautaro/Icardi that NT is average and over priced

Defense suck, Di Maria is getting old and players like Paredes, DePaul and LoCelso are way overpriced

Messi and World Cup will remain the dream

I've heard he's close to Chelsea.

Apparently he isn't their first choice so it could be done if Inter would want him. Glad I finally found someone who agrees with me about Tagliafico, thank you Nurko!

Materazzi is right. They're interested in Tagliafico but Lampard seems to prefer Chilwell though he's too expensive. It makes me really annoyed while Tagliafico and Telles are available for decent prices (around 25m) we're obsessed with Alonso and Emerson. It seems we only consider Serie A players and players previously coached by Conte.

Speaking of players who have played in Belgium, what's your opinion on Mæhle, Genk attacking right back? I have seen few videos of him and he looks promising. He can't be really expensive as Atalanta are linked with him. Thank you in advance.

One thing is if Telles and Tagliafico are even suited to wingback role? It's different to fullback role.

I am not sure about Tagliafico but from what i had seen from Telles at Inter i believe he can play as a wingback. Anyway, we aren't linked with either so we probably won't find out.

Never understood the obsession with meunier, he's a basket case who forgets he's not the striker he was in his youth. Though I've only ever seen people on FIF rate him

According to Romano, Marotta and Ausilio have been working for weeks to close the deals for Tonali and Kumbula.
