You guys are stuck in the past. If we get 4 more good months out of Sanchez I’d be extremely happy. 5mil is still a salary for a player like Scamacca and maybe more.

That being said, yeah paying Sanchez 4mil to bugger off isn’t exactly ideal. We have weigh his impact for the rest of the season to see if it’s worth the gamble. If Sanchez stays, one of Correa or Dzeko needs to go. The attack needs new blood.
Yes, Scamacca might command only 2.5m€ net salary (5m€ gross). But he also commands like 30-40m€ cost on the balance sheet, 6-8m€ annual amortization cost (cashflow-wise maybe 20-25m€ overall). The level of cost is higher than Sanchez's one.

And Origi instead of Sanchez? GTFO :D

The situation in attack is very clear. We all agree it's the weakest part of the starting lineup and we need someone to start or at least give a serious competition to Dzeko. As things stand, we have 4 forwards. If we want to sign someone, one of them needs to go and Sanchez would be the obvious choice. If we choose to keep Sanchez then we accept starting another season with Dzeko as a starter and with no serious backup. That's the price you have to pay if you want to keep Sanchez.

I guess I don’t see why we can’t try and get rid of Dzeko instead of Sanchez and have Lautaro - Scamacca (or whoever) as our main strikers and Sanchez - Correa as our support strikers.

I would try to get rid of Correa out of all these names tbh. :D
That would be the best but good luck finding someone to offer serious money for a guy who has been injured for most of the season so far. I can't see us getting anything more than loan with option for Correa.

Perisic could move up front if required, but that creates a yawning gap on that left hand side.

So lemme get this right, as I'm a bit frustrated. Our current bench situation is:
  • Vecino/Vidal/Gagliardini first choice backups to the midfield 3
  • Correa dead for the foreseeable future, at least a month
  • Sanchez going to Chile, and we all know what happens there
  • Dzeko - Lautaro couldn't buy a goal if they pooled their entire net worth together
  • Sensi, who until now wasn't even relied to come on at 5-0 against Salernitana, is now being held back to fix the hole made by Correa.
With 10 days left of the mercato, there isn't the slightest inkling of a reliable rumour of us being after a striker OR a midfielder, despite us:
  • Being Scudetto winners
  • ...which of course also means CL money
  • Going through to the UCL Ro16
  • Supercoppa Champions
  • Selling for roundabout 180m in the summer, and spending 12.5m of that.
This is some depressing shit ladies and gentlemen.

Would love to see Cavani, but Inter will probably end up with Lacazette , cause Juve and EPL will get our top choices.

Haven't mentioned Agoume? He can't be any worse than Vecino and deserves a look.

Thanks but no thanks. He`s good as LWB but not as FW/ST. As far as I know, Perisic will leave on a free anyway.

Because is clear that the club expects to be knocked out by Liverpool.
You already have won all the money you could get from CL with only the tickets of the home match ( to be seen how much fans will be allowed) to be expected. So as long as you won't progress you are basically building a team which should survive for 17 matches remaining in the league + 2 in CL. With the competition you have seen during the 1st part of the season its clear that we can survive this Serie A with this roster.

For the next then it depends on the kind of ambition we will have. If Zhang/China says fuck money i want to rule the world and win CL you invest in Vlahovic & KO. If Zhang says income = expenses then you will see "Pinamonti + company" for Scammaca kind of deals

Inzaghi said they had a meeting with the club and the president at the end of Venezia match over transfer market. They will have a meeting tomorrow to evaluate the situation.

Hopefully something comes out of that.

Drawing or winning against Liverpool if only 1 game would generate more money.

I didn't watch the match but the fact we needed a 90 min winner against a depleted Venezia squad says a lot. We have a big problem in attack. We need to sign a forward even if it's a stop gap on a 6-month loan. I fear we will regret it if we don't sign anyone.
