Caffe is absolutely right, fuck Milenkovic, Maksimovic and co. Keep Skriniar, find a scheme with Sassuolo.

I bet that will be easier to move some people in January, people could be back on stadiums and we will have some certainty.

Romano - Tottenham are still in talks with Inter for Skriniar. Complicated deal but still on - Inter want €60m [add ons included]. Final decision will be made soon.
Skriniar is the #1 target, Rudiger is one of the "plans B".

As long as we stick to our evaluation, he will probably stay. I can't see Levy offering anything close to 60m.

I hope we are not about to do the dumbest thing of the decade, replacing Skriniar with Darmian.

I was torn of the idea Skriniar out, Kante and a good quality CB in. But just flat out Skriniar for Darmian is, simply put moronic.

How so?

Darmian will be a sub player?

Who will be the third starter in our three men defense?

Kovacic is a good example though Skriniar situation reminds me a lot of Seedorf when we sold him because he didn't fit Cuper. Just maddening decision. And knowing Inter, Conte will be gone in few months after satisfying most of his demands. It would be the most Inter thing to do.
I thought you knew the real reason behind that sale: has been said that Seedorf fucked Ronaldo`s girlfriend back then and was known to have the biggest 8====D in the locker-room. So it was either Ronaldo or Seedorf leaving.

don't believe in Smalling, he used to play in the center of Roma's defence, so its De Vrij's position. I'm afraid that Milenković*could end up too expensive and we get someone like Izzo/Ruediger who are mediocre defenders.
This is a very good observation, thank you. However some wrote that Smalldini was playing not in the center of defence. Can anybody back this information up please? Smalling is tall and might make sense for him to also underperform in LCB/RCB role, especially on 1 vs 1s.

Would a scudetto or a title justify this madness? I just can’t articulate but I feel like this club is becoming a stranger to me.

One could argue that Inter could/should win that Scudetto this season without Kante but with Skriniar in the squad.

if they sell Skriniar for no real reason I see no recourse for that. I hope the club does.
The reason was to free up funds to buy Kante, the most requested player by Conte [think of his insistence for Vidal and Lukaku].

Pirola and Bastoni are the future. Take the 60 and run.
Problem is, there was never such an offer.

If we sell Skriniar for good money, update that RCB spot and then somehow sell Brozo and buy Kanye for that spot, we would immediately be a much better team for Conte.
I agree with both posts but currently those 2 are BIG IFs that do not seem to be happening at all. I would love to see Kanye president of the U.S. but it might be too soon for that.

on-topic: we all appreciate the Skriniar that was hungry to prove himself here, not the shadow he became nowadays. No matter if he stays or leaves, I hope this will be a wake-up call for him - he needs his grinta back ASAP. To me it seems that he confirmed as starter, performed well and then took it a bit easy, because his salary is good enough. Unfortunately this is typical balkan mentality (here in Romania as well), so I hope he can still regain his determination and performances before it`s too late for him to continue on top level.

Well i was too young to follow off-field gossip at the time and in the end we ended up selling both in that summer.

smalling played CB only in Roma's 3-4-2-1. Small sample size (~ 10 games), but Mancini was always RCB when fit. Ibanez played all positions. Kolarov played LCB, especially in the latter set of those 10 games when spinazzola started really balling

Very telling words from Škriniar's agent:

“He said his coach has not spoken much to him lately,” Hapal said, according to Tuttomercatoweb.

“He may leave, but he knows he’s in the club’s plans and that he should stay at the Nerazzurri.

We didn't need his agent words to realize who wants him gone. Just a comparison between the words of Ausilio and Conte on Saturday was enough.

Slovakia is not in the Balkans.

Another thing from your post I forgot to quote: Ronaldo and Seedorf both left in 2002 summer. So Ronaldo didn't stay anyway regardless of Seedorf's departure.

And Skriniar has been a starter since when? What I was saying basically was we won't lose Skriniar and Frog, one or the other, it seems Frog is gone, Darmian will come in there, Skriniar stays.

no budge please

We've paid 34m to get Skriniar from Sampdoria, and now we want to make only 6m profit on him while Tottenham (English club!) want him for LESS than what we've originally paid for Sampdoria? What kind of horse shit is this?!
Thank you, this says it all.

With one week to go, people can calm down, Skriniar is staying.
Hope he will start this evening.

Ruben Dias is going for 70m.
Skriniar is going for 50m. There is no way we have to sell this guy, let alone for this sum.
Even in this pandemic-affected market, Benfica obtained €68m from City for that Ruben Dias guy :palm: [and mananged to sign Otamendi replacement for €15m in the process]. And they are from a much weaker league!

Even 50m for Skriniar is ridiculous SPECIALLY when the buyer is an English club!
Only reason to sell him was because nobody actually bid for Brozovic/Eriksen and he is wanted by Mourinho.
Marotta should make the most of it, in case we have to make this kind of a sacrifice. Levy`s time to pay up or fuck off.

Alasdair Gold, a reliable Spurs reporter, on Skriniar:

At the back, Tottenham are also expected to continue talks with Inter Milan for centre-back Milan Skriniar.

The Serie A side want close to £45million for the Slovakian while Spurs are looking to pay closer to £32million plus add-ons.

Tottenham will hope that with Inter looking to make further signings themselves, the price tag will lower in the final days of the window.

So they're basically waiting for Inter to drop the price. Hopefully we won't budge.

£32m plus Dele Alli.. Think i'd have to stop supporting Inter if that happened.
