I think people might be writing off Skriniar’s ambitions as a player to an extent. Like obviously I want him to stay with us and renew like JZ would have done but maybe he wants to move to a team where he’ll likely get more exposure and have better chance of winning UCL.

It really depends on the club. If we're talking about PSG the only reason to go there is money. Ligue 1 are the worst out of the top 5 leagues, they're far from CL favorites, club looks like a circus behind the scenes and dressing room is toxic with Mbappe vs Neymar clans.

Wasn't his ambition to be an "Inter's Hamsik" ? Becoming a bandiera or something?

Yeah I don’t really see Skriniar in a PSG shirt.

Or maybe I just refused to accept it.

It's life-changing money for you or me, not for Skriniar. He's already earning millions and we're reportedly going to offer him something in the region of €6-7m. He's going to be/remain a millionaire either way.

If he leaves, it will primarily be because he feels unappreciated with how we've fucked around with him. The money is a secondary issue in this case.
Millions are not what they used to be anymore especially post covid and Ukrainian war. Every million plus is a bonus nowadays.

Not even getting those money from psg would guarantee anyone lifetime financial safety if they aren't financially disciplined/educated and I'm not talking about Skriniar but in general.

Sorry man, but it definitely is life changing.
Moving from 7 digits to the mid 8 digits is more life changing than you can imagine.
What mid 8 digits? We are talking about 6-7m to 10m here.

But in general, Skriniar moves if he moves, because he got fed up with Inter as a club when it comes to keeping important players. He signs if he signs because he still believes in the club.

It's hard to perceive pro athletes and their money. Sure he gets a few mil here, but living in Milano is not cheap. His wife is probably by now accustomed to a certain standard of living and expenses, he has a kid, it all adds up. Ten years ago you could have 7-8 mil aside and be set for life, nowadays that's not really the case and you will have to take risks investing. Getting those 40-50m long term at PSG would definitely add a very plushy safety net and take mind off the future.
Obviously I'm not talking about your average lifestyle that most of us on this forum are stuck with.

Regarding his outspoken desire to be our Hamsik, it's easy to rationalize a lot when you are doing it for your children and when your employer practically did all it could to get rid of you.

Don't have one.
Hope he stays, but I really want him moved to the middle, and we buy someone on the right with bastoni capabilities in attack. That would be a perfect scenario, imo. He just can't play to the full potential in his current position.

We may be forced to do it anyway by circumstances. If De Vrij doesn't extend then it would be incredibly stupid to insist on playing Skriniar on the right.

Please god, Capitan Skriniar moved to the middle would be excellent. Should've really jumped on Akanji for that RCB spot for the future, but we're broke as shit.
