To think management would’ve happily sold him to Spurs for 40m in 2020
to think that certain... management is the only person praised on FIF makes it quite sweet.

De Vrij was actually one of our best players, but he just had those 3 blatant situations. But even Brozovic had 2 major brainfarts and he was almost on par with Skriniar.

Meh,he can do much better than this tonight. Especially Bastoni.

Skriniar is a wall. What makes he stands out is his passion. Normally when defenders make an important tackle they’ll be like “phew thank God”. But Skriniar will scream like he’s just scored a goal. Makes a huge difference to team morale and serves to deter his opponents somewhat

I keep saying it but Barella is not mature enough. Skriniar is the rightful captain. I almost even prefer Brozovic over Barella.

Sadly none of that matters because it seems only a formality before Barella is given the armband. In fact reports say he will be offered the captaincy as part of his new contract.

Whatever, as long as they’re leaders on and off the pitch and as long as we have multiple leaders.

Absolutely agree. Barella isn’t there yet. He seems like a kid that still needs to be pampered by the elders rather than someone who can step out and lead.

Captaincy isn’t a management trainee programme. We are hiring a CEO on the field and Skriniar is the right one to lead us. Let’s not make another Icardi mistake again.

It’s not like you know the roles of our players in tge dressing room to judge who would make a better captain. Might be that Barella is indeed influential in the dressing room and quite possibly much more mature than he appears to be on social media.

Exactly. We don't know anything about the locker room.

But Skriniar is definitely one of the vice-captains.

We should sign that renewal with him too before the Christmas.

Zaniolo: "I met with the strongest central defenders in the world. Van Dijk, Chiellini, Sergio Ramos. Skriniar is the most annoying, one of the ones I agonize with, tough, gloomy, he's not inferior to anything."

To think there where members of this forum who wanted him sold because he couldn't cope with the 3-5-2 formation.

He just needed some time to adjust to this formation. He also getting more comfortable with the ball at his feet, he will never be a De Vrij but he is progessing. Against Sampdoria he had a perfect pass to Sensi who fucked it up but it shows he is getting more confident moving forward. It may seem a little bit rigid when he moves forward but who cares. He is a monster and a true successor of Samuel.

Holy shit, how many headers from corner has he had so far this season?

Feels like he gets 2 open headers every match. At this rate he will be the top scoring CB by the time he retires.
