Milan Derby Original Articlehttp://inter1908blog.com/looking-ahead-to-the-milan-derby/

The Milan Derby is coming up on us again, I wanted to take a preview of it and write about some expectations.
Milan Derby
Neither Milan team has played particularly well so far this season – with Inter heading up the table on 6 points with 3 goals from Jovetic in 2 games, and Milan languishing halfway down the table with 1 win after an opening day loss against Fiorentina. Both teams are pitching new looks this season, with Milan’s fresh attack of Luiz Adriano and Carlos Bacca offering a whole new game, and Inter’s freshened defence of Miranda and Murillo.
Carlos Bacca and Luiz Adriano
I don’t want to read too much in to two games, but Murillo and Miranda have looked absolutely class so far for us, and when playing from quite deep yesterday, showed the pace and jostle needed to disrupt any attacks we faced. I was really impressed with both of them – already looking like a ready-built partnership, delivering complementary performances and attributes.
Miranda and Murillo
However, I don’t think the new look will be the battle which ultimately wins this game. I saw some of the Milan match, and their midfield was just as abysmal as ours – and as we saw from our last match, it’s midfield which really causes us trouble. It’s essentially a battle of who is least worst, and that worries me more than anything else.

If Kondogbia can step up and start to show some justification of his 30 million euro price tag, and Brozovic can not play like he did yesterday, we might be able to stand a chance. Milan’s defense looks reasonably susceptible still, even with Romagnoli coming in, and whilst I think Palacio + Jovetic, or Icardi + Jovetic is on a fairly equal footing with them, even a small assertion in midfield will probably give us many chances.

One should also not forget that Perisic will be coming in, and keen to make a good impression. Fingers crossed he can deliver something like Sneijder did in his Milan derby debut in 2009.

I’m really excited for this match – I don’t think it’ll be a classic match but if we manage to win this, we’ll be sat 3 from 3 with 9 points. It will also be potentially defining for Milan, leaving them 6 points off the top of the table.

Agreed, but if they take the midfield there's always gonna be a huge risk like vs Carpi
