Milan bought a lot, but the problem is they aren't sure about the coach; and the coach isn't sure of his formation either. For instance, they bought Conti for back3 and Rodriguez for back 4 in the same window. Or Leao for a SS role in Giampaolo favorite 4-3-1-2, but didn't buy a serious AMC, only a lot of MCs just to bench them (Krunic, Bennacer). In the mean time Milan can't bench Suso cuz he is the most technically gifted; so it is either playing Suso as AMC (4-3-1-2) or Leao as winger (4-3-3).

Playing just-good-enough players out of position makes them look shit, even on paper. That Milan side you mentioned, at least players were played in their favorite position. Now Milan is just 11 individuals, nothing more. Their biggest lost is Leonardo, a great SP imo. The way Maldini "collects talents" reminds me of Mirabelli.

(don't get me wrong, I don' want to moan about our win It is excellent match no doubt. Just want to point out 306m spent but little in return)

They really thought they can surprise Godin with Leao?? Nice one. Kid can be fast, but he was like a spring lamb between gators jaws. Paqueta, Romagnoli, Piatek all 'backbone' players silenced and humiliated , AGAIN. Conte outplayed and pushed his red button , missile's flying and destroying Giampaoloball.

it was incredibile how superior inter was for 70 minute. We won every fight and there was not much space for them to do something. Only in the last minutes when Inter was tired they did something. It was like watching Real Madrid - Getafe. A really solid top team against some poor last team. A really good Inter against a really bad Milan.

Our defence was worldclass and the midfield improved a lot with Barella. Milan was only lucky that our forward is still not working that good because we would have won easily 5-0 at that point.

GdS has a ludicrously harsh rating system where if someone scored a 5 goals, they'll get an 8/10 max. That aside, those are just some flat out ridiculous ratings.

If I were to use the harsh GdS view, I would give Barella and Godin 7 and Sensi 6. Lautaro just scrapes a 6.5 IMO. As for Milan, Donnarumma deserves a 7 and Conti was even worse than Rodriguez in my opinion.
