I rewatched Darjeeling Limited, struck me better than 6 years ago, ofc. Still, I thought Wes should've made the main three characters more alive, more believable, since they lack something that his IMO best - The Royal Tenenbaums - had. The coldness is okay in the beginning, I just thought the last 20 minutes could be made better, into a more emotional climax (without changing the story too much). So it's just a good Wes Anderson movie, that doesn't challenge you in any way, it's pretty straightforward and positive to some degree. Maybe that's the problem - not gritty enough =)
