Too many hobbies makes it not enough time for Hobbits more than once per year.

On another note, watched the first Austin Powers last week while on the seaside and it doesn't have the same punch as before, not as many funnies as I remember

I watched the first Hangover movie after years of not watching (had seen it 5+ times) and it bizarrely felt really good. Didn't expect it to have such an effect.

Austin Powers was never really a funny movie, none of them. Just silly British humor, which needs a specific taste.

Actually I felt Austin Powers is more american humour and some kind of vanity project for Myers

When Spider-man 2 came out back in 2004 or whatever, Roger Ebert called it the best superhero movie ever made.

"Spider-Man 2" is the best superhero movie since the modern genre was launched with "Superman" (1978). It succeeds by being true to the insight that allowed Marvel Comics to upturn decades of comic-book tradition: Readers could identify more completely with heroes like themselves than with remote godlike paragons. Peter Parker was an insecure high school student, in grade trouble, inarticulate in love, unready to assume the responsibilities that came with his unexpected superpowers. It wasn't that Spider-Man could swing from skyscrapers that won over his readers; it was that he fretted about personal problems in the thought balloons above his Spidey face mask.

Hard to believe how much things have changed since then.

Anyway, I've only seen 2 or 3 Marvel movies but I always go out of my way to watch the Spider-man movies. Holland does a great job and they're usually pretty funny. All of the MCU integration sometimes makes it difficult for me to follow the plot (for instance, I have no clue who Benedict Cumerbatch's character is), but the general ideas remain.

Since endgame I have no interest in marvel movies. That felt like the natural good ending. I don't want to watch these fucking things forever.
i think mcu hasnt made a good movie since civil war. Infinity war and endgame are fun, but if you think just a little about them, they are pretty shitty.

this spider-man also looks like it will be fun, but the fact that Strange would make such a dangerous spell makes no sense at all. Shows you that these characters act different from movie to movie/show, as all the different writers have their own ideas. They also have to put like 10 big characters in the movie, so i am afraid they will all be just small cameos. Also, this will once again be a Tom Holland Spider-Man film where he's in the background. Just give the guy his own movie already and make him Spider-Man and not Iron-boy.

I'm gonna take a wild guess here and say that the spell is more like some of a dream that feels too real kind of thing and not really a world changing one.

MCU movies aren't basing themselves on quality but on entertainment value as well as tying the stories together. The Thanos situation wasn't really unveiled until halfway through the first series, not sure if it was just happenstance either, as it was mostly Hulk, Iron Man, Captain America and Thor movies at the beginning.

No clue where they're going with this, but there are several prequels (and sequels) in production iirc, including the Black Widow one, which either means they're just trying to milk the cash cow and just throw in future films whatever new characters feel interesting enough or they have a plan in motion.

I think they're getting the X-Men as well back, which for me were the main Marvel guys along with Spiderman and maybe Captain America since forever, until the MCU films started popping out and raised Iron Man and the Hulk as the top guys.

People overthink these movies, they are great fun movies, even if some of them arent as good as the best ones they are still solid.

Far from home was unenjoyable mess, bad humour, thought the villain was a good choice but badly utilized

Watched this trailer, looks like a standard Marvel movie, meh, I'll skip it, I want a new Miles Morales movie (who's main idea this movie is basically stealing)

I think the next phase of Marvel movies all play with this multiverse thing, so it's probably not going to be a dream. It's probably how they're going to introduce Mutants as well.

I agree. I don't watch all of them but they're good enough for me to sit down and enjoy. I don't want every movie to be some thought-provoking experience. People just have superhero fatigue which is understandable.

Fatigue partly also comes from sticking to the same formula (in Marvel's case) and movies lacking in themes/substance. Just pumping out movies with a snarky protagonist (except in Black Panther) with a villain of the week formula .. and Marvel knowing they at least have a core audience that will go watch every movie just so they can piece together the whole story. Meh, the best one was Winter Soldier easily

What is the point of having so many characters if half of them are some kind of variation of Tony Starks?

Like I said - give me themes, don't make the movie copy The Avengers, you know, the CGI-fest. More Batman Begins, Dark Knight and Into the Spider-verse type of movies. All of these movies are fun to watch, have interesting talking points, will stand the test of time and most importantly - don't underestimate their audience

I bet if we got more movies like that people would still be hyped. But gee wiz, making movies is hard, so make sure you always appreciate the ones that know what they are doing

Rumours have it that it’s not real Strange but Evil Strange

I'm excited for The Batman. I think that's going to be really good.

One gripe I have with Marvel movies is that they all have the same look. I can't exactly pinpoint what it is but it's super noticeable. It's not just the CGI but it's the way the movies in general look. New York especially looks off to me compared to the Raimi movies.

MCU has the best franchise ever, end of story :D maybe coz i'm fan of the comics and basically now i get to see some of the storylines visually, but whatever. I also think they are spot on with 95% of the cast, movie links and dynamics.

For the future, im little excited for Eternals and a lot excited for Spidermen. Shang Chi not so much, tho i believe it will be fun to watch action packed movie. For Dr. Strange being evil rumors, i doubt they are true. IMO Dr. Strange is like that, he's been like that in the Comics as well. Tries new stuff, goes against laws of physics and is egoistic, hence he tried the spell, which apparently failed.

Does he still have the time stone? Can't he look in the future and see if his spell works like he did in infinity war?

I think not. They were destroyed in Endgame, and those used to bring people back were sent back by Cap so that they dont fuck up with other timelines.
