The Royal Tenenbaums is one of my fav movies, also Fantastic Mr. Fox. I can totally understand if somebody doesn't like his style, but overall I believe he doesn't have a bad movie, at least not yet. Life Aquatic and Darjeeling Limited are probably his worst and they are still at the very least competent good movies to me.

Last Night is Soho is to me, a better movie overall than The Shining. Make what you want from that information. I believe Edgar Wright is a genius.

I saw the Batman last night

It was really really really good.

Batman the Dark Knight is still the best. Its Heat with Batman in it.

The Batman is Seven with Batman in it.

Not sure if I like this better than Batman Begins but its def a top 3 batman movie. Def best DC movie since the Nolan ones

He fights like Affleck and his Bruce Wayne is sort of like Keaton minus him killing people. This one finally doesn't kill.

What I loved
- he is batman for 97% of the movie
- he narrates the story like in year one.
- its based off year one, long halloween, hush
- it has a few cameo of villains but doesn't acknowledge who they are. I am 90% sure Hush is in this movie and was the actual muscle. It never says such tho. One of the other big characters last names is Elliot. Hush is Thomas Elliot(think he is the guy at the end who batman fights).
- No Shaky cam BS with the fights
- Gotham Police finally do something haha
- the main cast is great


what was ok
- the 1st 2/3rds of the movie are incredible... the last part is a bit weak.
- could potentially be seen as political
- way too depressing and violent to let a kid under 12 watch. Riddler murders are pretty f'd up
- Riddler really isn't the Riddler he is more Hush. Even then... probably more of a Jigsaw/ Zodiac killer. It was cool but not the character
- When batman appears he makes a ton of Noise like the big Brute in Resident Evil 2. Guy is suppose to be a Ninja. I get he is suppose to make you crap your pants but he should have been a taller and more muscular guy. When he first appears the thugs are scared but then laugh when they see him until he beats the fk out of them.


The bad
-The Batsuit Makes no sense. He gets shot point blank with a shotgun and doesn't die. He sort of gets the wind knocked out of him. He also gets shot at by like 5 machine guns at the same time and just blocks it with his suit... what kind of armor is that....
-Yet his mask is leather and looks really really bad. The nose part is odd. He basically has a Arkham Video game suit but has Adam West Mask
-Batman uses Venom(drug Bane uses to get strong). Doesn't really say it but he takes a shot of it after he gets shot. It's in the like last 10 minutes of the movie. Like why didn't he use it earlier?
- This whole he is grounded BS needs to end. I want to see him and Superman team up. I liked the Take on Batman but I want to see him in Justice League. For that he needs to be Affleck + Lego Batman to be like he is in the cartoons.

New Batman movie is one of the reasons I want Imdb to have .5 ratings possible. Would give it a 7.5 but had to drop it to 7/10 because it's not a 8/10 by my standards.

As expected these days, they tried to throw in a lot of wokeness. Didn't particularly like the 'big' scenes at the end, so basically the entire ending felt quite dull and anti-climactic.

The Batman himself as a vigilante felt odd. Spent more time with the police than chasing baddies. The car chase scene with Penguin I felt was ridiculous and no one talked about the casualties there as if nothing happened...

Riddler character was great whilst unmasked, but never bought it that he was "the Riddler". Jim Carrey ruined that for me by setting the standards too high.

Inconsistency in how effective he was at absorbing bullets (and his face never gets hit despite being uncovered and shot at multiple times).

I had no expectations, did not watch the trailer (but whilst in the theater I did get to watch extended trailers that kinda give away movies I intended to watch ) and it was sort of a last minute thing to go. Cannot say I was disappointed, it was a good cinema movie but it's not one that you'll remember watching.

Too slow for me, I liked the dark aspect because it's Batman, it's how it's supposed to be. But the action part was underwhelming and/or unrealistic.

Pursuit of Happyness was good tho. Both Will and his kid did well.

Regarding the slap, comedians nowadays like to go overboard with insulting "jokes" and then when there's push-back like to hide behind the "you can't take a joke?" line. Getting slapped live in front of the whole world was a possible consequence and Chris accepted this consequence like a champ. Just like Will Smith should accept any consequence of assaulting a dude.

Ironically, the hilarious part is that the joke was terribly unfunny and not worth the risk of insulting someone's disease
