We didn't really pass on him. Cagliari kept demanding too much for him.

For RWB, we clearly got a better player in Dumfries.

Overall Nandez would be a good backup player to have for the midfield. But paying 25m+ is too much for a rotational option, especially when we have enough players in midfield. If he stays at Cagliari this season, then I'm sure we will go back for him next season, probably when some or all of Vidal/Vecino/Gags are moving on.

He would be a decent backup for multiple positions, though we already are filled in RWB so we'd need to shift one of midfielders (Vecino/Vidal) out which we clearly aren't able to do. So keep on waiting Nandez.

Actually it appeared a rumor that Napoli are interested in 5G and Inter Miami asked for Vidal but the former will be super ultra important for our project most probably and the latter won't like to leave.

Why two? Not like we have huge depth in midfield we have 7 players for 3 CM/AM (depending on what inzaghi plays) spots dont think thats excessive.
Also if one of vecino/gags leaves and we get nadez financially it would pretty much be a 0 sum game if the reported nubers are true for Nandez.

I find the rumor about Napoli and Gagliardini bs. Spalletti was never fond of Gagliardini. Instead he always loved Vecino. The only way i can see Napoli going for Gagliardini is if they want to sign a midfielder only on loan with option to buy which is basically impossible for Vecino.

Its been said a few times, I am all for Nandez and I like him, however our midfield needs offloaded before we get him, there's no chance he's playing right pegs with Denzel/DDA/Darmian knocking around so CM's need to go.. Gags, Vecino, VIDAL please. One of these 3, probably 2 tbh.

even Paratici is not that mental to pay 30 mln euro for Nandez. He is good player with grinta, but 20 mln euro for him is a fair price, I expected more from him when he arrived to Cagliari.

Ok, good player with grinta, universal player who can cover multiple positions and such players are useful. But he is already 25yo, so I don't expect to make a big leap forward at this age and the price is pretty spicy.
