I don't think these stadium projects are going to proceed to the phase where money is needed (real building), because Italy is a total mess financially. Unless the stadiums and everything connected to the building process is funded by private companies. EU financial crisis will hit to Italy very hard and it's hard to see big investments going to that direction anytime soon. Unfortunately.

It's still an enigma looking at the current economic situation and how the new stadia will be built and with what funds, but I think that the clubs will find the way (after that the new rule will be approved) to start it. Cagliari is certain that will have the new stadium in 2012/2013,Zampa said that is certain the he will build it as soon as possible (the project will be presented during this current month),so there's hope that the same will happen with the other clubs too. I guess that the answer to your question should be "private companies" or the owners himselfs.

So why everyone and even Palermo are making stadiums and we arent again?

Leaving San Siro and find a deal with the Council Communal of Milano without the rule for the new stadiums is impossible,so we have to wait a little bit again, but the project is there for sure.

Well, lets just move out of Milano then... Lake Como is said to be pretty, my mate George has a home there maybe I can give him a call and get him to demolish it for our stadium :troll:

It's only a matter of time now that Juve built their new stadio that other clubs will follow the way. One only hopes they don't become soulless like English stadiums or the venues here in North America however

Why are English stadiums soulless? They do have the rich history.

I believe you aren't even allowed to stand in your place in the stadiums in England so that pretty much sums up the whole argument.

ManUtd away fans do hence the % allocation was reduced for Liverpool game this season.

Actually most of the away fans do, but after the disasters I wouldn't call stadiums soulless just coz people wont stand during games.

Juve managed to build theirs without the stadiums rule... and did so for a quite okay price.

Perhaps soulless is the wrong word. I agree the likes of Old Trafford, Anfield, Goodison Park, etc... have lots of rich history. But I also find they lack any atmosphere whatsoever these days. Much like sports over here in North America, the average joe is usually priced out and the middle class (and upper-middle) take over at stadiums and arenas. The BPL itself is turning into a very commercial league like the NFL or NBA but with relegation and promotion system. And that's fine because the clubs and league are making an insane amount of money. I just like my football a little more grimey and staying true to it's working-class roots. And while most of the stadio in Italy are out-dated and usually half-empty, the passion is still there no matter where you go and will hopefully stay no matter what.

Well, soul is given to the stadium by the fans.
italy should forget about englih stadiums and follow german model with stend up section and german ticket prices which are as low as 10-20 euros and i just remembered if you price tickets for 10-40 euros you will have packed stadiums and with that you will have sponsors flocking to serie a germany clubs make as much money from tv as the do from sponsors
