This article says that Inter will buy a new Stadium and Milan will buy the San Siro. But it's just speculation...

Okey, thats what I though too.

Which one you guys would prefer if you got a choice. New stadium or buying Meazza and reconstructing it?

to buy and then rebuild the meazza would cost probably 50% more than just building our own stadium from scratch...

i'd rather we build our own, from the bottom up, in an area we can choose for best transport links etc..

I am tired of the Meazza's pitch. At this point I am guessing everything they could think to try has been tried, so I don't hold out a lot of hope of a 'cheap fix'. So if we will have a perfect pitch and a perfect new stadium then thats the way to go, IMO.

Arent they doing a semi-synthetic turf this season?

I think the playing area problem will now be gone for sure. But its still old. Im a old is gold person, but even though with all emotional attachment, I would never want Inter to buy the stadium. Its not well connected. Its old. It has 80000 seats(unrealistic if you arent Barcelona), nothing basically going for it.

I'm with Suneet and achilles on this one.

I think I can say this to end every stupid emo post on this thread about us being at the Meazza as its our home....:

Just go to one modern stadium before or after you go to Meazza and then tell us what you think. Meazza is windows 3.1 and new ones are like Mac. And I hate Macs too, but they are way ahead.

Yeah, anybody stepping foot into Emirates stadium will be amazed at how much more advanced to the Meazza it is.......

Both stadiums are beautiful in their own way, but its time to find a new place to set up shop.

A synthetic turf. Is that the only thing they haven't tried yet?

What is the downside? Players don't like it, as it is tough on the knees, is that right? Will players tire quicker? Then again, compared to slipping and sliding on the old pitch its probably a small price to pay!

Its a decent temporary fix, but hopefully we can construct a stadium of our own in good time.

The pitch being tough on the knees makes things really difficult. Anyone who plays would know.

It's not an atrificial pitch like the one at Novara it is a hybrid. The players will be playing on natural grass that is rooted in place by synthetic grass. Which will basically act as roots for the real grass and make it more durable. It is the same grass from the new wembley. The company is called Desso I believe. It should fix the problem, and you can't even see or feel the difference. Ball doesn't bounce funny, no extra injuries, no extra heat off the turf.

There are some artificial pitches here in Victoria. I have gone for kick arounds on them, but not played any full games on that sort of pitch.

The advantage here is that the pitches don't get soggy, muddy, worn out, etc. I thought it was really good for ball control, maybe a little tougher for your follow through.

Either way, the point is the pitch was already terrible, so we can only compare the new 'semi-synthetic' pitch to the old Meazza pitch, not to 'the best of all possible worlds', if you catch my drift.

The Meazza pitch made even WATCHING games tough :)

Players slipping, tough to change direction, tough to accelerate quickly. Maybe this will encourage Moratti's 'rejuvenation' process!

The pitch being tough on the knees makes things really difficult. Anyone who plays would know.

I completely agree. I think the key point is to attract more fans & families with modern facilities, make it like a family day out, and have the higher paying boxes with VIP stuff. These aspects will have a huge impact on the revenues going forward. Just look at how Juve have more than doubled their revenue from gate receipts since their new stadium.... if Juventus can do that, imagine what Inter can achieve... we actually have fans in our city :p

If no one ever moved stadiums because their original stadium was 'their home', we'd be playing in parks with a bunch of beach seats on the side and maybe a few stools.

Sooner or later everyone moves on.

That we would be great move from udinese...all italian teams should do their best, to build new stadiums or at least modernize their current ones IF THEY OWN IT....doesn't make sense modernizing a stadium but losing profits because you have to pay "rent"
