Stramaccioni for senior team coach, anyone?
Perhaps thats the only way we can integrate some of their talents into the senior team, and get some success out of this youth based project that Inter have embarked on...
Looks like Moratti agreed
IMO, this is the best decision Inter have taken since Mourinho left.
Strama may have no senior club experience, but over the last 8 months he has transformed our primavera. He understands our youth, their strengths. More importantly, his tactics are very familiar to Inter - there are more synergies of Inter's current squad with his footballing philosophy, than with our previous 4 coaches.
Inter have embarked on a youth focused long term project, and specially with the way our financial situation is, we had no choice in this respect. There will not be many big transfers in for a while now, unless they are funded by selling some of our stars. In this environment, Inter need to get the best out of our investment in youth. And who can better integrate these talented kids into the senior team, than someone who led them to success in the first "youth champions league"? That success came with wins against some top academies of Europe, many of which (Sporting, Ajax) had more talent than our own.
I don't see this as a short term appointment, at least I hope it is not, for this has the potential to be the most long term appointment Inter have made since the hiring of Mancini. Stramaccioni is a brilliant tactician, we had heard so much about him when Inter hired him last summer, and so far he has more than delivered.
Kids like Bessa have the talent to make the senior team soon. The appointment of Stramaccioni can really work in his favour, as well as some of our other talents like Crisetig, Longo, Alborno, Spendlhofer, M'Baye, Duncan, etc.
I haven't been this excited about Inter since the treble, which now seems decades ago.
