I think my biggest disagreement with you Sawyer is the quality of these Packers teams you're referencing. Earlier in his career when he had Nelson, Jennings, and James Jones, he had a supporting cast that was worthy of him (sans a run game), and he won a Super Bowl. These days Rodgers is throwing the ball to Adams and a bunch of nobodies. The Pack are probably going to let Aaron Jones walk in free agency, and rather than draft a real #2 receiver last year they took a QB.

They had a general manager in Ted Thompson who refused to sign free agents. They never gave him the supporting cast he needed, despite him elevating the play of those around him. Also, the Packers have NEVER had an elite defense. Occasionally good, at best. Their team defensive rankings are usually in the 20s.

Compare this to the supporting cast Mahomes, Brees, Brady, and even Cousins have had to work with these past few years.

That's totally fair, I respect that. I am not trying to dispute anything Cousins wise, all I literally was saying was Rodges is a play off bottler, 10 seasons or so you know? The very few people I know and discuss NFL with bought it to my attention, I never actually really thought about it before until my Lions mate bought it to me (same division I know, but he's not the only one).

Cousins has had a great team around him, however it was a new team to him, new style, new coaches, new players, the D might have been phenomenal but it was ageing, the kicker was a massive problem too. If you think Washington have a better squad than Green Bay I'd have to disagree but I am not like a "stat man" or w/e I can't pull out 72 man rosters and compare etc, so I apologise for that bud I'd love to have a better discussion point. As a Vikes fan though, I can tell you we've not had the best overall team, we've had no D since 2018, No corners (literally playing rookies) since 2019 (the season the 2 best corners we had disappeared) and our Offence is defined by Cook/Thielen with the bright spark of Jefferson, another rookie.

But hey, thats the beauty of sports, not everyone will agree I just wish it was down the pub for banter and beer, I miss those days sooooo badly.

They had their window in the early 2010s. It's rather amazing they didn't win more, but that goes same for the Saints after 2009. They blew lots of opportunities that weren't in the QB's control.

That being said, the Packers failed on chances vs the Bucs. 3 interceptions and you still blow it with Kevin King? Ouch. Better to be a one time champion than zero. That 2010 team wasn't luck, more underrated is Charles Woodson switching to safety in the back end of his career. Traemon Williams was also clutch.

Out of interest who supports who in here and is there anyone hoping they get certain draft picks? Trevor Lawrence will 100000% go to the Jags, best draft pick I've seen in time!

Vikes released Kyle Rudolph, nearly cried at the news :(

I have no faith in my front office. They're a bunch of outdated guys living in 2002.

Used to brace for this stuff, now the apathy is real because it ain't in my control. Would love it if they took someone who can help sooner than later, but all they do is draft projects.

Seriously (and honestly no offence) did you/have you watched GB in the play off's last 12 years?

i mean i was in the stadium last year when rodgers offensive line was getting their shit pushed in by the niners.

Football more than any other sport is a team game, and you need a good supporting staff, which isn't easy to come by nowadays. and i think as soon as you get 1 superbowl you're considered to have produced in the playoffs. Dan Marino doesn't have any, neither does Jim Kelly but they're considered great.

also i STILL want deshaun watson

Fair play mate, fair play. So jealous you've been to any NFL game live, its on my bucket list! What you said makes total sense, honestly, all I mean is its a running joke Rodgers is a play off bottler.. he's the best QB in the NFL right now IMO, without a doubt. I do not deny his talent or how great he is at all, for reference.

Dan Marino was amazing in Ace Ventura, I will give you that for sure, he was possibly the greatest QB of all time! From memory/reading he never even made the play offs.. I think that says more about the team though than Marino.

Jim Kelly same as above, Bills though man .. not to mention these are the top 2 picks from NFL website from QB's never to win a super bowl, I am sure you didn't but its almost like a google discussion fact finding mission :pazzini:

Marino never making the playoffs is very false, he must have made the playoffs like a dozen times. I always had an irrational dislike of Marino though.

Rodgers being a playoff bottler is just crazy talk though. I mean, take this year for example, no one with eyes would disagree that he outplayed Brady in that matchup, but unfortunately for him it's not an individual sport. If it was, he'd be swimming in Super Bowl trophies. I'm too lazy to look up the numbers but I'd wager that Rodger's playoff rating is among the best all time, and certainly above Brady, but the NFL isn't the NBA where 1-2 guys can carry a team.

Is it just me, or is it weird that these lawsuits about Watson are coming in after he demanded a trade?

If there is any semblance of truth in any of these lawsuits, he can fuck off. But the timing of them is definitely sus.

Timing is indeed strange. The Texans are already in a screwed situation with nobody wanting that job, the McNairs seem like an ownership to work for either. I'll wait on the information, but that's not looking with this many women saying something.

Media says they're taking Mac Jones. But who knows?

I just stop reading into rumors and just study these guys myself with my own opinion.

I hope, if the Niners take a QB, they take Fields. I really don't rate Mac Jones above Justin Fields. I don't see how that's the better choice.

In shanahan i trust, but i'd rather we take fields.

Also i don't expect jimmy to be a niner after the draft. If the Broncos/Panthers don't get anything juicy i imagine they look at jimmy. Same with the Patriots.

News coming out about Rodgers feeling disgruntled about his situation at Green Bay and subsequently wanting out.

Maybe the thought of becoming the permanent Jeopardy host has gotten too far into his head.

Thought you're a Bucs fan. When did this switch happen?
