No offense to Como but they’re not even a mid table club. I get their goal is to be the new Atalanta I suppose but I highly doubt Paz side or Madrid want him to stay there. He needs to experience playing in a team with bigger expectations in bigger games with a team who sees more of the ball. Inzaghi is on record about liking him if I’m not mistaken. I think Oaktree will give us a present this summer.

Who are these other rich clubs who are after him? I dont think we have to compete. We're a huge club and can offer the next step in his career. Zanetti will have been on a charm-offensive in the background no doubt. Plus Argentinians and Inter go together.
Real Madrid, his owner club. They can easily take him back and put a price we cannot afford. When we reach the end of season more clubs from the other major leagues could come after him and offer him and his club more money than we could. I am well aware of the Argentinian ties to Inter and I would love to see quality Argentines here, but the way we've been going through the past mercato and how we look for free and cheap players, the chance of us getting him + several other players for the missing spots is not very high for me.

Maybe. Cant see any "Top" level clubs going after him. It'll prob be West Ham or possibly someone like Newcastle and the like. He'll want games more than anything so if we can offer him that we'll have a good a chance as anyone.

We're going to get him. I get the pessimism after the post covid suning ownership but this is natural progression for his career. He wont get into Real Madrids team often so theyll want him at a bigger club to keep developing. If he succeeds here theyll buy him back and if he doesnt they got their money. I expect we can buy him for around 40 million with a 70-80 million buyback.

I mentioned earlier on this thread that Madrid wanted 12m euros for him initially and took just half of that from Como in the end, they just adjusted the buy-back clauses downwards accordingly. I'm UK based and Paz does not really seem to have much profile here, so I don't think necessarily Inter are going to be blown out of the water by PL money. He has risen in value based on his performances, but it's still a single good season track record which shouldn't really put him beyond the 30m euro mark.

Finally have some time to watch a bit of this dude and... I think he's over hyped. Looks like another dude who will fail to displace Mkhitaryan.

The thing is, if he is a trequartista or he can play in Barella/Mikhi role? if he is not the player for 3-5-2 then all this talk is useless. If complain about Frattesi doesn't make sense to spent all the budget on a trequartista.

You say that like Mkhitaryan and Calhanoglu were always LCM and a regista.

If they see certain qualities in him, like leadership, good with the ball, creative type, I don't care where he'll play for us, a quality player will make it work. I don't mind if he's the Sanchez type.

And if the team can carry 12-passes-in-84-minutes-midfielder Frattesi, then putting anyone there would make the job easier for the other 10.

It's too early for concrete discussions? What they are waiting for, a bid from Jube or Milan in order to initiate concrete discussions?

We like Nico and have the idea to sign him. He has the idea to join us, in fact, it might be that he only want Inter.
Come has the idea to keep him.
We do not know what idea Real have.
Nonetheless, I am optimistic. Optimistic but also realistic.

I don't understand one thing though.

Say Real activates their buyback clause, why can't we offer 1m more to Como and let Nico decide himself which team he wants to join?

Because that's not how the buyback clause works. There is a buyback for Real Madrid. They can buy him for that money, no one else. If someone else offers 1M more, Como can say "fuck off". Only club they cannot say "fuck" off is Real Madrid, because of the clause.

Because he is officially a Como player as of now and not an Real Madrid player
