It would be nice if we could get him, but I still highly doubt we would sign Paz.
There are a few reasons why this transfer is difficult.
Known one is Real's buy option. Even if they don't need him, they could just buy him and add him to their bunch of talented young players.
Madrid are known for splashing big money on young talent, so a ~30m offer won't make them budge, especially for homegrown talent.
Although there has been recent news that we have been given permission to talk to Paz, I still doubt that he would skip Madrid if they ask him to come back.
Also, Como wants to keep him and could just renegotiate to remove the buyout clause, and they have plenty of transfer funds.
Being a regular starter and seen as the star player for the team's future is a big incentive for him to improve, and it will also make it more likely that he will be picked for the Argentina national team for the upcoming world cup instead of being on the bench at Real or Inter.
There are also questions about his squad status and his tactical fit. Obviously, there's also the huge transfer fee, and Romano has suggested that other positions are a priority. Spending more than 30m on a rotational player when Inzaghi will likely still start Mkhi seems like a waste.

Also If you missed the Calcioefinanza interview with Como's president on about Paz, here it is.
Q. What’s the situation with Nico Paz?
A. «We have no intention of selling any of our players, at least not in the near future. Maybe in three or four years—because it would be naive to say that player sales aren’t part of the business. And we’re not short on money—we are well-backed».
«For example, in recent days, we made an offer for one of the most important players in this league, but the club didn’t want to sell him. We also made an offer for another top player whose club had agreed to sell him, but the player himself didn’t want to come (reportedly, this was Milan’s left-back Theo Hernández). We’re not afraid to make offers for big-name players, but we have to ensure they fit within our budget».
«Right now, if we let our ego drive our decisions, we would probably make offers for every player in the world—but that’s not how we operate. We are guided by our financial strength, which means our owners won’t simply inject money while we’re not generating sustainable revenue. We have to start making money on our own by building the business».
