Nainggolan is definitely not able to play full games anymore every week. But in a bench role he would be good.
I believe this is very overemphasized when it comes to football players. I will be 31 in a couple of weeks and I can get myself to a level of fitness to be able to play 90 minutes each week, sometimes even more and have never ever been a football player in my life. I have no natural fitness, I am not one of those guys that were simply able to do anything they want, but could only achieve semi-decent results with hard work.
I participated in a recreational football where 25 of us used to rent full-sized training pitch of a Premier League club here in BiH and played 2x 45 minutes with a 5 minute break in between halves. It was amazing how guys who never run for anything but a leaving bus managed to build up their fitness to actually run for 90 minutes in a demanding tempo, all within a period of a few months. Of course, professional football is a whole different beast but I can guarantee you that any player is able to get himself ready to play 90 mins per week in a two month period. Professionals have trainers, physios, equipment, nutritionists, cooks and whatever they need at clubs like Inter. The major difference makers are attitude and lifestyle, those things affect the preparations more than anything. In sport when it comes to endurance based performance (like running effectively and efficiently for 90 minutes), it's all about mindset and has almost nothing with genetics and age in the stage of life Radja is at currently.
