Nainggolan is definitely not able to play full games anymore every week. But in a bench role he would be good.

I believe this is very overemphasized when it comes to football players. I will be 31 in a couple of weeks and I can get myself to a level of fitness to be able to play 90 minutes each week, sometimes even more and have never ever been a football player in my life. I have no natural fitness, I am not one of those guys that were simply able to do anything they want, but could only achieve semi-decent results with hard work.

I participated in a recreational football where 25 of us used to rent full-sized training pitch of a Premier League club here in BiH and played 2x 45 minutes with a 5 minute break in between halves. It was amazing how guys who never run for anything but a leaving bus managed to build up their fitness to actually run for 90 minutes in a demanding tempo, all within a period of a few months. Of course, professional football is a whole different beast but I can guarantee you that any player is able to get himself ready to play 90 mins per week in a two month period. Professionals have trainers, physios, equipment, nutritionists, cooks and whatever they need at clubs like Inter. The major difference makers are attitude and lifestyle, those things affect the preparations more than anything. In sport when it comes to endurance based performance (like running effectively and efficiently for 90 minutes), it's all about mindset and has almost nothing with genetics and age in the stage of life Radja is at currently.

Good signing but how will this help us score more goals? We scored just 57 last season, that's nowhere near enough for a contender. Meanwhile our defence was fine.

Why does this signing need to benefit our scoring potential, that is what other signings are for. This signing benefits our ability to counter attack properly; our ability to own in midfield; a strong tackler that can make something happen. It adds exactly the elements our midfield was seemingly lacking.

Nicolò Barella is the midfielder who has won the most duels over the last two seasons in Serie A (480). Fearless. OptaPaolo

He will be Conte's new Vidal, well the same role anyway

In a world in which Conte is Inter's coach.

Can you at least let the guy put out a lineup in a real match before you criticize his selections?

He is criticizing the management's decision actually if not simply mentioning a paradox. Seems quite obvious.

Never, ever got the impression that Barella is anywhere as athletic, dynamic, explosive, decisive or potent in front of goal as Vidal was back then, but OK. I hope so too.

Why does this signing need to benefit our scoring potential
Because that's where we are severely lacking. Our midfield is shit because we don't create anything not because can't "own" midfield. Again, this is a good signing but considering time and money invested it's a disappointment because it doesn't really change anything. We may beat Juventus and Napoli but that's just 4 out of 38 games, what about the rest? Will the Barella signing help us against Sassulo, Bologna, Parma, Torino, etc? Those are teams we struggle against and the ones I worry about.

that"s why we need Lukaku, to wrestle all those defenses almost alone.

You’re right. But keep in mind that Barella is 22 while your earliest impressions of Vidal were probably when he moved to juve. He was 24 at that time.

Barella is not suddenly going to get that burst of acceleration and power and explosive, all-action style to his play when he turns 22.

I won't say one is "better" than the other because they're different. Just that I don't think Barella has comparable traits to Vidal, and will never be a similar player, regardless of age.

People insist that Barella is some kind of Nainggolan-Vidal player. Just let it go :)

He's more like an old school central midfielder if anything.

Barella has better technical skills than Vidal and Nainggolan... But he has grinta also, sometimes even too much, I expect he will get some red cards here tbh

I blame our scoring problems on Spalletti. We would have the ball in the other teams half for hours and looked completely clueless. We had no idea what to do with the ball in order to create any good chance. That comes down to coaching. Our movement off the ball was laughable...no pattern play whatsoever.

In the two seasons with Spalletti we scored 57 and 66 goals. The season before, with a weaker squad and a coaching carousel, we scored 72 goals.

This is the undeniable proof that the Inter curse exists, and is incurable.

Spalletti returned to Roma from Zenit exactly halfway through through the 2015/16 season. Under his management, the team scored 48 goals in just the remaining half season. Then in the 2016/17 season, his last at Roma before coming here, his team scored 90 goals

Spalletti was a guy renowned for the way his teams played attractive attacking football, but criticised for his teams leaky defense. He comes to Inter and immediately our defense is solid and our attack is fucking ugly and ineffective. Basically coming to Inter turned him into the exact opposite of everything he'd been in his career.

You can't even make this shit up.

what do you expect if some cunt likes to insist with nainngolan and icardi upfront, 2 players that have 0 technical skills. One can only finish, the other is just not a trequartista. We don't really had the players for 4231
