Barella will win more trophies here if he stay than he'll ever win at Newcastle. Fact. But if he does leave, good riddance. There're plenty of players who appreciate the club and its history.

Nice subdued performance today, spent a lot of time directing Dumfries on defensive positioning especially in the second half.

Verratti and then him, then 5 empty spots and then others, when it comes to Italian midfielders. He'll surpass Verratti if he further develops shooting, but he is getting there imo

You forget Jorginho, who is one of the favourites to win the Ballon d'or!

Italy have a wealth of quality in the midfield now. A good generation and an NT coach willing to give them chances early. Pellegrini, Locatelli and Tonali are pretty talented too, and still improving in the case of the latter two. Thats a pretty talented midfield 6 to take to the World Cup.

It's awesome, the disbalance in terms of talent between midfield and attack is staggering.

Re Jorginho, I think Barella and Verratti have more and they can adequately perform in his position, while he can't in theirs. But, that's just my feeling.

Pellegrini and Tonali--just great. Italy is set when it comes to midfield. Whatever NT coach imagines he'll have midfield to support it.

Do you guys watch these players or do you just look at stats? What Jorginho does is not for highlight reels or youtube compilation videos, there's a reason why the best coaches in the world move heaven and earth for such players. Veratti is easily PSGs most important player (when fit), without him, they don't tick. Both players are crucial for the NT, mores so than Barella.

That said, I would like to see more of Barella in the DLP role. He doesn't have the requisite vision and spatial awareness but i think he understands the role to the point we can rest Brozovic some games and play Barella instead.

Fair enough. If I could vote for Ballon d'oro I would abstain because I don't know enough.

It's about personal preference for me, based on how I feel about it, not on the knowledge of the game which is quite modest in my case.

Who the fuck cares about Liverpool during a Barella extension? Ffs Romano, stop pampering PL fanboys with every news story...
Yeah, I've noticed he focuses shit tons to EPL clubs. Whenever there are any fucking rumors linking player to EPL, he always want to make his tweets about them.

Completely useless rumor if anyone would fucking know Barella at all. He's not fucking leaving anywhere.

Brought the energy and was outstanding in the 1st half. The 2nd not so much, how much was change in tactics or the players were gassed we'll probably never know.

No comments about the “golden boy”?

He cant always start if he keeps performing like that every now and then. An unacceptable performance from him, tons of shitty decisions.

He also needs to stop with the one touch pass that actually never worked.

Yeah to his normal standard, this was a bad game by Barella. Did good things but did way too many bad things. Should get a rest at some point.
