When Politano entered the field, said and signalled to Barella to go on the left flank.
His second pass after that was the assist to Lukaku.

That was more due to Sensi-Vecino sub. Barella actually looked more comfortable playing on the left side, I remember most of his good runs came that side when at Cagliari. Also Vecino is more used to and comfortable on the right side.

Overall I didn't think he was all that great - lost possession several times which led to Milan counters - but finished strongly, with a superb assist.

Apart from Godin, he was our best player by a mile.

No, he objectively did not lose the possession several times.

He sure did, at least three times, stupidly too.

Unfortunately playing in midfield that’s going to happen sometimes. He had 96% passing accuracy, that’s still very good.

If he gave the ball away stupidly then every midfielder does.

His interview with SA a while back, really sheds a light on how he sees himself on the pitch, don't know if it has been posted before.

Dominated the midfield. Bullied every guy in Milan who came up against him. Enough looking for SMS and start looking for Barella.

Gagli in CL? Wtf were you thinking Conte.

Yup. Brozo, Sensi and Barella might be a bit small as a trio but they're by far our best midfielders. Gags and Vecino should only be used at the very end of games. God forbid any of that aforementioned trio get injured though.

Like I was saying, this kid is dope. Just give him time. I wouldn't go gaga over his derby performance, just like I wasn't worried when people were criticising his previous performances. He is talented, young, playing with high intensity with the right attitude and character. Thats why I badly wanted him at Inter for the last year. IMO he is already at a decent level but he can improve further. Give him 1-2 years, and he will be our midfield dynamo.

Well said Bluenine. I feel this season it will be with Barella that he won't start every match yet. He's so young, comes from a different, small club environment. He has to learn to be able to give big output week in week out (twice a week).

And Felipe Andersen. And even Candreva (though not so badly). There is a pattern here somewhere...

The only player you got wrong (albeit not your fault) was Nainngolan. But most of your expectations/ predictions were right.

Biglia 4 years ago, when we were inked with him (Mancio time) was a very good player, that we badly needed. Milan bought him actually too late.
Felipe Anderson is also a good player, not world-class, but good. Still, the price was too spicy (West Ham paid over 40m for him, if I am correct! Too much!)
