There’s a fine line between tenacity and mindless aggression that I wish Barella was better at navigating. All those stupid tackles and arguments with the referee need to toned down a bit.
I thought he took a little while to grow into the game today. Lost the ball a few times in the first half. But as usual when the other team gets going and the match gets harder he just takes it to another level. He is always there to be counted when things get tougher. Love that about him.
Not too many players have that combination of pitbull running with good technique. This kid is my favourite player now, along with Skriniar. He can probably keep running every 3rd day. Has a similar machine to Brozovic.

I agree with everything you said, but at the same time I'm principally glad that we finally have someone with true untamed grinta. That kind of personality is great for the squad.
If you are having a bad day or can't sleep for some reason just think that we have covered 1 midfield position with this beast for the next 10 seasons...
The best thing about Barella is that he can step up when he needs to. One of the things I dislike about Brozo is that when the going gets tough he sometimes looks to self-destruct. Barella is pretty much the opposite as he drives the team forward in these situations.
Would love to see him start getting some goals and assists now although he's doing a great job.
he played his heart out, fought for every inch on the pitch. that's how you prove you are an interista. His pass to Lautaro on the counter attack after we missed the penalty was awesome.
