That chip was the coolest I've seen barella in front of goal if he truly wants to be among the elite in world football he needs to improve his finishing, hopefully he's been working on it.

It doesn't appear so!

People were pissed at him for taking so many shots but I'm all for it. 1st, they were mostly volleys from tough positions to control the ball and give it to someone else so it wasn't a bad decision to take them. 2nd, Barella has very good technique in his shooting, yeah he sucks at finishing but he's still decent at volleys and I think that's why he's always positioned to take them from corners (it is designed). 3rd, I'd always rather a player be proactive instead of hesitating because he missed, at the highest level if I was his teammate I'd be pissed just because he's afraid to miss.

A more polished Guarin tbh. Don’t even mean that negatively but his shooting is something else.

Guarin scored 22 goals and 38 assist for us…… love how you guys make him sound like the worst player to ever play for Inter.

Rumour has it that one of those “inaccurate” shots just reached Mars. Still waiting on confirmation from NASA

Absolutely mediocre for n times. I'm starting to like the idea of selling him, while his price is high.

Yeah, starting to agree it seems he's reached a plateau his work rate is excellent but his impact appears to have stagnated. He hasn't taken that next level to change an outcome of a match in a long time if memory serves me correctly.

Man of the match, for sure. Involved in all 3 goals - ran the length of the pitch to assist Dzeko for Correa's tap in, sick volley, and ball through to Lautaro.

He's been great this season. A summer of rest might have served him well.

It was a joy to watch all the small subtle displays of world class last night - taming difficult balls, his off the ball movement. And it was weirdly glaring how calm he looked.
At this point I'm certain that he creates his own problems, dude just needs to learn to stay calm. As soon as he gets pissed off everything goes to shit, that's why he is often off-key in big games. And I'm also suspecting that his mood depends on Brozovic a lot, last night Brozo was calm too. When one starts flinging his arms about, the other immediately follows.

Barella is a really interesting player in that I think you can make a compelling argument for him being a totally average midfielder with a good engine, but then you see moments like his goal and assist to set up Lautaro yesterday and you realize he has a little extra of something.

After last week's brilliance, he became virtually nonexistent for the most part today. So much so I forgot that he was subbed off.
