To be honest I can't understand any Arabic lyric but the sound's good to me. Surfing on Youtube is one of my favourite thing when I have a free time. That's how I discover some good staff. Not only Abdel Halim I also know and love Fairuz ,Warda ,Farid Al Atrache ,Samira Tawfik ,Sabah Fakhri and Hakim.

Very impressive list, originally we have adopted Turkish music and that's why you'd like the songs of these old singers, I dont like Arabic music at all however I find few songs of the oldies are worthy listening to, specially Fairouz and a particular song or two for Abd Alwahab.

Speaking of oldies, I like Jazz music, Chet Baker is my fav. I listen to all his records from the 50s and 60s.

Thanks but you're wrong about one thing. You haven't adopted Turkish music ,we did adopt Arabic music. Even ''adopted'' is a very gentle word. I'd prefer to say ''stealing''. I'm proud I'm Turkish but thank god patriotism doesn't make me blind or stupid. I like to talk frankly. Our singers always steal from Arabs ,Greeks ,Armenians ,Balkans and Iranians. In my opinion unfortunatelly my nation isn't good at music.

Im not eastern music expert but oddly many here think that we the ones that stole Turkish music, well you should look up in the history of stolen music and tell me what you've found.

Actually I listen to Rock and I came across a couple of Turkish bands that I liked during my visit to Turkey, Gece Yolculari is great though I only listened to one album (Gokler Agliyor) though I still like to listen to it now, also Yalin has few good songs like Gunaydin and Ben Bilmem.
