Olivier Giroud could undergo a medical with Inter this weekend ahead of a transfer from Chelsea according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia.

In the past few hours there has been further contact made between Inter and Chelsea over the veteran French striker, whose contract with the Premier League side is due to expire at the end of the season.

Inter have tabled the 33-year-old a two and a half year deal and have offered Chelsea a deal worth €4.5 million plus bonuses for him. As per the report, the clubs are just a step away from reaching an agreement over his transfer.

Giroud, who has been with Chelsea since January 2018, has found playing time very hard to come by this season with him having been limited to just seven appearances across all competitions.

The 2018 World Cup winner has been on the pitch for just 282 minutes this season, during which he has scored one goal.

We only have 3 players over 30 in our starting line up: Candreva, Godin and Asamoah.

But yes, rEtIrEmEnT hOmE.

Its gonna start piling up with Ashley young and him coming in. When I say retirement home, I meant old players with hefty wages.

He's not, we signed Spinazzola.

LOL what`s the point of opening topic now, when the deal is already done? This has been already discussed in the Forwards thread.

Sky Sport Italia already stated last night that the medical would be done by the weekend, but RMC Sport believe it’ll be even faster than that.

They suggest agent Michael Manuello will be in Milan on Thursday to conclude the transfer and work out the final details of the two-and-a-half-year contract.

Gianluca Di Marzio had said Chelsea agreed to a fee of €4.5m plus €1m in add-ons, whereas RMC transfer expert Mohamed Bouhafsi sees it as €6.5m including all the various bonuses.

The move can finally go through now that Matteo Politano has found a new club, joining Roma in a straight swap with left-wing-back Leonardo Spinazzola.

He's the best vice-Lukaku we could possibly find not named Edin Dzeko. Added pluses of having worked with Conte before, so he knows exactly the job he's going to be doing, and that he's a Europa League killer . Can't say I'm dizzy with excitement, but I think it's a perfect addition to the team.

Good addition. I wish we had gone for him in the summer. To me, either him or Llorente are the same. We need one of them to be a reliable backup.

solid pick-up for a position of need. With politano gone and espo still raw and sanchez injured and more of a backup for toro - this is a great deal for us.

I like the addition too. He can be our Dzeko for way less of a price.
