He has played in Europe. In 2006-2007 season he has played in Lithuania and 07/08 in Poland.

But my point is that there is NO ARGUMENT you can come up with for us NOT to sign Paulinho that would not have applied to Thiago Silva as well.

At least Paulinho PLAYED when he was in Europe, Silva didnt. At least Paulinho is younger than Silva when he moved. And cheaper.

Its a risk. I dont deny it. I havent seen him play, but from the scouting reports I've read, he's exactly the sort of midfielder we need.

Silva didnt play once in EITHER of those two leagues. A variety of injury and illness, from what I understand.

Playing in Poland and Lithuania means that those leagues are AT LEAST on his level.

Not playing in Portugal and Russia simply tell you that those leagues are ABOVE his level....
