Paulo Dybala

Imagine you`re in Ausilio/Marotta`s shoes, would you offer Dybala a contract?

  • Yes - unlock defences and add value: creativity, individual brilliance, attacking outside the box

  • No - serious doubts about his fitness and contribution when it matters the most

I'm not really concerned with missing out on Dybala. My issue is what this means for next summer, assuming Dybala doesn't arrive.

We chose Lukaku over Dybala, choosing to pay for an expensive loan rather than an outright purchase. Next summer, we're going to have only two strikers under contract: Martinez and Correa. Sanchez, Dzeko, and Lukaku will all be gone/out of contract.

Then what? Do we pay an inflated transfer fee for a 30 year-old Lukaku? If Lukaku has a great season, Chelsea are going to want $$$ for him. Do we get swept up in a summer of stalled negotiations, like Marotta is famous for? Do we have to sell Barella or Bastoni to finance such a move?

It just doesn't feel like there's a long-term vision right now.
i honestly don't care much because we will probably continue selling big players in the next seasons. All i want is this second star before the team becomes again full of mediocre players and unknown "talents" like gabigol and alvarez. This could be the last chance this year, with or without Dybala, things are not looking great for us. Marotta is great but he can not do magics, replacing players without money is not easy.
Lukaku is here one year? enough to win at least our last scudetto, everyone can fuck off after this. Specialy Zhang.

I too want that second star and before BILAN

we are said to be selling the team by the end of the calendar year so who knows we may see big names in the winter transfer or this summer, i still think Dybala would be a great signing but 352 is trash IMO

It all goes down to the fact Inzaghi doesn't see Lautaro as a main forward. For the coach Lukaku over Dybala was always the obvious choice. It would be so Inter if Lukaku flops while Dybala remains injury free.
Lukaku was mostly Zhang. And Lukaku himself via his national federation that wanted him to push the move in order to get in shape for the World Cup. Until that call, Lukaku didn't even care about where he'd go. The "he only wants Inter" stuff came because the national team assumes that he'll be disciplined here and don't want him to take a risk whether that's Tottenham (which would resemble his 2021 version closer), Bayern, Atletico or wherever else.

Inzaghi obviously wanted a striker but the original plan was to sign Dybala and there was no Lukaku idea until later in April or something.

It wasn't a tactical decision, it was a "score" for Zhang to celebrate that he made a great deal to get back a player he sold for a record fee. Marotta's on board with stuff like that so it was easy to change priorities. From a strategic point of view, this is a very bad path to take. Don't forget that we're also going to need to sell a player for capital gains due to this move.

But this also doesn't refute your point, since Dybala was always coming as Sanchez's replacement. We're still not offloading Sanchez and we've delayed a lot. If the priority in late June was Dybala, Sanchez would have been long gone by now. But it's not.

I still trust we're going to pull this off but the way we're handling things isn't helping...

I also believe that Inzaghi prefers Lukaku over Dybala, as he mainly wants someone with pace to lead the line, in my view.
Lukaku is safer bet than Dybala as well. If he fails, he will go back to Chelsea. If he rocks again, Marotta could try for one more loan, otherwise Lukaku will go back to Chelsea as well.
From other hand, if Dybala flops it will be impossible to get rid of him, and we'll be stuck with him and his fat salary for 4 years.

He never said we won't get him.

He just as every other season gave the political answer, meaning we're ok as it is, just so some of our cuck players feelings don't get hurt. He also said the admiration is still there...

So given all the talk these past months, we have a great chance, we just need to let someone go.

It's either this or we're definitely should commit a suicide as a team and it's fanbase.

I don't think its as easy as you make it seem it looks like offloading Sanchez has been a problem he has interest but teams that aren't in his vision good enough for him. It will be hard to move him and equally hard to do a severance package

At this point, after what Inter said and done, I would be shocked if he came.

It's such a delicate move for everyone, especially Dybala, so I don't know how it can survive this.

Our management are idiots. Enjoy next season when Lukaku, Correa and Sanchez get injured and we have Lautaro upfront with Dzeko. Fucking idiots.

Dybala has been an injury prone in his last 2 seasons just like them.

lol, I wanted and still want Dybala to join, but the amount of shots fired at management for apparently not signing him, after all the shots fired at the management for wanting to sign him in the first place, just shows this place will never be satisfied with anything they do.

He'd be a good 3rd option, but I'm not sure he'd be satisfied with that.
