Gasperini didn't have the right squad for his style of play during his tenure here. Old and aging players, who were still full of ego and lacking motivation after having won everything two seasons prior. Topped with mediocre players like Palombo, Joel Obi, Alvarez, Poli, Zarate, and whatnot, he was bound to fail from day one.

It's interesting to see what he can do with our current squad, assuming nobody leaves of course.

The players literally grouped together in one of Gasperinis games here and decided by their own will to play their own type of game instead of doing whatever he asked lmao. I'll never forget that.

The good thing about being out of a coach is that it won't last long. It's not like waiting forever for a Lukaku transfer or any other. The new coach will be found in a couple of days, whoever it is. For me -

Sarri - welcome change. I would take him.
Inzaghi - fuck no
Mihajlovic - fuck no
Conceicao - no clue about him, but might be interesting. His attributes have traditionally suited a club like ours.
Gallardo - is he even a contender?

Just don't get a tried and tested failure.

If we let go Conte by paying him that rumoured amount only last night for Allegri to join Juventus today, I doubt he was our primary option (i.e. if Allegri has already agreed). With Moratti or Zhang, I agree but I still have a feeling that Marotta has some plans and it better be good. The next few days are going to be good for us, Real and Juve.

Honestly we are fucking doomed, of all the coaches we are linked to and those we can realistically hire, no single one is almost perfectly suitable or without some deficiencies. This is the reason why I've refused to talk about this issue so far. I've just cluelessly fold my arms watching, waiting for whom we will end up with.
