Don't have any experience with Olympus, but I have a Canon 600D and I am very happy with it. But it is probably a little bigger than the Olympus.

I kinda prefer olympic electric SZH-benzema. it`s quite accurate and colorful. however you`ll need to buy additional batteries as it only lasts for 10 years.

This is also what I have and it's a nice entry level DSLR. I think if you've got enough money for it, buy it, and if you don't, then don't bother with any cameras at all. You'll need to spend about £400-500 on a camera + lens kit to even start doing photography at a reasonable level with basic kit. Anything less is only good for holiday snaps.

Ed it looks like some nifty piece of kit. It's a mirrorless camera, and I feel it will be a bit limited compared to other cameras. I checked the price of that olympus camera and with that money you can get a decent DSLR (Nikon D90, D500 or even D60!), which are good for beginner to intermediate users (just realised my post agrees with previous posters). I personally have a D60 (which I bought with 18-55mm and 55-200mm lenses), and I'm happy with it, you can start off the bat to learn shutter speed, aperture, ISO and their effects on exposure; lighting composition and perspective.

If you find DSLR's too intimidating (as you said you are new to photography), just start with a regular point and shoot compact camera to get the basic ideas of taking pictures. I started out with a point and shoot, myself.

As for the rest of you, start posting your favourite pics that you took on here and maybe a story behind it!

This picture was taken at Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II near the Duomo in Milan.

Megapixels don't mean shit, what is far more important is the quality of the CMOS sensor. If you have a 20MP camera but a shitty CMOS, you will get shitty pictures. It's better to have 5-6MP and a really good quality CMOS (and also a nice lens system) than some ridiculously high MP rating. Megapixels is just a marketing ploy, because it makes it easier for the general public to put a grading system of good and bad in their head.

Depends on the size of the sensor too. Those compact cameras with 20MP squuezed onto their tiny sensors give pictures with a lot of noise..

Can we get the chance to review these pics and judge your work?

I agree with Fitzy. Let us experts judge these pictures and decide if the lighting and composition of these photos are being used properly...

When you open your picture, In the bottom right corner there is a button called "embed", click on that and within that code you will find the url with the direct link to the photo you want to share. Looking forward to the photos.

I feel those nikon are too huge. I had few compact cameras. Used a lumix and olympus for compact before. I was thinking to have an upgrade but i dont want as big as nikon or canon.. thats why i was thinking of olympus pen or lumix.
