Ausilio said that the idea is to play 3-5-2 from on now with Hernanes as the LCM,Guarin RCM and a "metodista"the midfielder who plays in front of the defence but isn't the same as regista/dlp because he needs to know how to defend too.soo needs to know how to attack and defend.and that is Kuz for Mazzarri?! :palm: I'd rather Cuchu thanks and that says a lot!
Oh and the two strikers Palacio and Milito

He also said hinted that Frog could get his contract renewed

So basically a Thiago Motta. The question is who are we going to play in this position long term? Hope we have someone specific in mind for the transfer window. It's not going to be Kovacic that's for sure, not under Walter. My dream player would be Javi Martinez, pretty unrealistic if I'm being honest. Could also be Hernanes long term. Also we have Cristeg playing that position well in Serie B, again Walter would never allow this, but Jorginho made the jump look pretty easy.

Well, Crisetig is a youngster, so no, that won't work (so much for our youngster project)

Motta and Martinez are very different players though. And I don't think Hernanes is the answer there either. His game isn't about vision and passing, it's about shuttling forward and getting involved in build-up play. Playing him in Kuz's spot would leave us too open.

Motta and Martinez are different but both capable of filling a position where they are neither pure DM nor DLP. Motta leaning more toward DLP with defensive skills, while Martinez leaning more towards DM with passing skills.

Let's not forget Hernanes has previously played in a deeper position to pretty good affect for Brazil. It would probably require someone like Taider in the midfield, but It could be something worth trying.

That's fair re. Motta and Martinez. I think you're talking more about their physical position on the pitch, I was referring more to their qualities. Martinez is more solid, but Motta is a much better passer.

On Hernanes, he had Gustavo and usually Paulinho beside him doing defensive work. He was never the deepest midfielder the way Kuz is being used.

Yeah Hernanes does play with a partner deep, but it's not like Kuzmanovic has a wealth of experience playing as the sole deepest midfielder ala Busquets. I'd honestly like to see if we could also fit Alvarez into the midfield if we moved Hernanes to a deeper position. Another way to get creativity and possession on the field and Alvarez is better pressing than Hernanes. It could be defensively light, but I'd like to see Walt test it out. If everyone works, presses and we don't leave the center backs isolated, why not?

I watched a few Sao Paulo Brasilerao matches before his transfer to Lazio (to get a good look at him), and it's fair to say that while he was played deep, he was never a DLP (in being able to pull strings from deep and orchestrate the direction and speed of play)

Not to mention defensively he's quite poor.

And to compare the Crisetig of this year with the Jorginho of last year is ludicrous. The Italo-Brazilian had been great for two years before 12/13, with a brilliant debut season in Serie B in 11/12, and a decent debut season in Italy with Sambonifacese in Serie C1.

Ffs Cataldi has been more impressive than Crisetig at Crotone imo.

Well at the time we were being heavily linked with him, so frankly I was interested. I also caught some of Sao Paulo's CL matches.

I believe I watched a total of 5 Sao Paulo matches to get a good look at Hernanes (iirc ofc).

If Ausilio can bring Torres for only 25 million to poor declining Serie A, he'd be a legend around Milan.

I don't want Torres. He is shit!

Also, Chelsea keep getting worldclass players and dump their useless ones with high wages on other teams. Fuck that!

Torres is shit now, but we all remember His years in Atlethico and LFC. For 15M-20M, no more, it would be good deal.

We don't have fucking time machine :eek:blivious: even if we have it, we should make our Asado clan turn young again, no need to spend for Torres :eek:blivious:

and I don't even think 5M for Torres is a good deal, consider his age, high salary, and his form is the last few years.

That deal is about as good as resigning Chivu to a 4 year deal and tripling his wages

Exactly Torres even for free is a terrible deal, now if they give him for free and offer to pay half his wages, then it may be worth it.
