I'm not so sure he is leaving.
Ofc they want to keep him. Amazing and proven player.

The only chance for us reaching players at such high calibre is he wanna leave. Similar to Pavard.

Julian Alvarez was available for 20m before joining City but we looked the other way. Now, I don't know if we can even afford him. He's too good to sit on the City's bench.

The dickhead was always going to be on the bench behind Halaand.

If he reduces his salary then he can come to inter, otherwise, you are right and the opportunity has been lost.

How is he not? He was clutch for both City and Argentina the season they won CL and World Cup. He doesn't have Haalands or Lautaros numbers, but he does look more clutch than both of them when it's really important to score a goal

He has more goals than ThuLa combined in Champions League and he clinched the world cup. What do you expect more in the biggest stages?

The only thing prevents him from being impossible for Inter to reach is being "only" a sub at City. Like Hakimi at Real. Or else I wouldn't even mention him here.

I expect a player to perform at the highest level for a longer period before I wite him as a proven player. I don't really give a fuck about these stats of his goals while I can see him in an actual match. He isn't THAT good. Though he has impressive goal insticts, I'll give him that, but he isn't that special in overall. I feel like some of you guys are way too influenced by circumstances or whatever it's being served in football social media.

Alvarez could compete against ThuLa, and if in form would and can keep one of them out.

I would love him playing for this club. Its his salary that would hinder any sort of a deal for Inter, like 99.9% of players nowadays.

4 of his 8 CL goals are against Crvena Zvezda,Copenhagen (goal for a 5:0 win at minute 76) and Real (goal for a 4:0 win at minute 91).

For Argentina he didn't scored any in 18 months. One tournament wonder? You can certainly argue.

Really, only the salary?

Like we could actually afford buying him in the first place

As if ThuLau scores tons against Copenhagen or Zvezda, or didn't shit his pants in the CL final. You must be one of the guys against Pavard or Hakimi too coz they don't play enough for their respective top teams.

Alvarez has 19 goals and 11 assists as a sub last season. Sorry to tell you that is the maximum of "proven" Inter can aim for. Who else you suggest with more impressive profile? Gudmunsson or Zirkzee?

We can’t afford him, who do you think we are exactly?

His wage would be equal that of Martinez new contract and he is unlikely to go for anything under €80m

Sure his near Martinez level but we aren’t financially capable of securing him in any sort of way… get a reality grip

Also your dislike and disrespect for Martinez and Thuram is reaching a ridiculous level…

We couldnt afford Lukaku, it worked because the player wanted to sign for us and forced the move.

If a player wants out bad enough we could do it. This is all hypothetical anyway, Alvarez isnt keen to join Inter's "Argentine" contingent, to the point he would reduce his salary and demand to be transferred out.

I was just saying he would be a great pairing with ThuLa.

Alvarez makes 100k a week gross, that's peanuts for Inter. The problem is always the transfer fee and playing time not the salary, Inter could double his salary easily.

The difference is Lukaku salary was astronomical so having his ass sitting on the bench was not an option for Chelsea. Julian's salary is so low that city would rather leave him rot on the bench than leave on loan for free. Also, Julian doesn't seem to be a bitch like Lukaku.

Why on earth would they even consider a loan when Chelsea are willing to offer a high fee for him

I don’t know what alternative reality people are living in, but can forget any sort of idea of them loaning him out or him lowering his wage demand that at bare min. would be Thuram level.

It worked out because the club was desperate as well to get him off their books. That isn’t the reality here and he received a far higher wage. Also others of our starters received less back then, then they do now or will very soon.

Also we had change of ownership, they put a ceiling on the payroll, as we seen increase or will on a couple of player and Inzaghi, cuts need to be made elsewhere (some found with departures of Sanchez, Cuadrado, Klaassan & Sensi) but overall the payroll will stay the same it dos not leave for high wage signing
