Well, technically if he came to us it would certainly be a step up But it was just an idea, there's not exactly a lot of great deals to be had on the striker market this summer and considering we might need to buy 2 or 3 (Sanchez out, Lautaro to Barca, and Esposito on loan somewhere) it might be a good idea to start looking for some more unorthodox solutions.

Monaco aren't going to activate Slimani option and he's returning to Leicester. We were linked with him last January and I think he would be a good option for the backup forward role. He only has one year left in his contract so I don't think he would be that expensive.

I mentioned him because he had a decent season at Monaco, he was linked with Inter in January and he could be available. I really can't think of a low cost and reliable Lukaku backup. This isn't a good market for forwards.

Some good statistics ( especially scoring goals) shouldn't get impressed you. The French league teams are terrible about defence. Even PSG have still defensive problems who spend millons on it. I mean scoring goals in French league isn't a big think unless if we're not talking about Mbappe. That young fella is brilliant at every level.

We're probably gonna end up with someone like Ansaldi rotating with Young and Biraghi if we're done spending after Hakimi and Tonali. But there's also the potential of getting someone on a loan + option deal. Firpo came to mind but Barcelona are unlikely to accept such an offer from us.

I'd personally like Renan Lodi as I've said in the past. That kid will turn out well.
