How come Inter is always the target of the smaller clubs fury? Not Milan or Juve?

First Palermo, now Udinese...I don't get it.

Why is the smaller club continously complaining about Inter's advantages and not about Milan or Juve's? It seems we are always the target!

[FONT=Arial,Helvetica,Geneva,Swiss,SunSans-Regular]Udinese have launched a scathing attack at Inter for using improper procedures to keep Obafemi Martins from leaving on African Nations Cup duty.

"They have resorted to underhand methods and made us look like idiots," said sporting director Pietro Leonardi.

Inter President Giacinto Facchetti managed to successfully appeal to Nigeria to allow Nerazzurri striker Martins to stay in Italy for at least the weekend’s match against Cagliari.

This news, however, hasn’t been digested at all well by the Friuli club, who have already had to bid farewell to their Nigerian midfielder Christian Obodo.

"Inter have resorted to underhand methods to keep hold of Martins and instead of saying as much, have made us look like idiots," fumed Leonardi in an interview with Radio Radio.

"The truth is that nowadays when it comes to communications, we play second fiddle to the big sides.

"Inter have committed a subterfuge to take Martins back from Nigeria, while we, on the other hand, are made to look like people who can’t perform those sort of miracles," he continued.

"Obviously everyone is treated differently."[/FONT]

Don't blame Inter for your team's officials being unable to persuade Nigeria to be lenient.

As much as I'd like to say; fark them, we just can't go on having bad relations with clubs like Palermo and Udinese, because at the end of the day, Serie A is a business and we do need them, this isn't the WWF where its everyone for themselves, we can use all the help we can get.

If you are reffering to player transfers I don't believe we neccesarally need them. With the football market becoming more open the last few years we can get players from pretty much any club in the world. If you are referring to politics in serie a than we need them.

And Catanha, it may seem right to mend relationship with the Palermo's and Udinese's. However, the best way to deal with these teams is with the iron fist.

Even though I'm happy that Martins is avaiable I sorta agree with what he's saying. There should be some equal policy for all sides. But until such a thing happens hopefully Facchetti keeps up the "persuasion." :star:

I disagree each case is different and should be handled like that. the nigeria coach oviously felt he didn't need oba there for training but he needs the other 2 there.

About the other thing. TV rights. Juve made a zillion euro deal with Mediaset (Berlusconi's company) and now the smaller clubs are threatening to boycott the whole Serie A. They think the TV rights should be sold for the whole Serie A, not just for one team. In this matter we (Inter) and also Milan are in Juve's side. Well of course, because there's more money for us, if we can do our own deal. Anyway, I personally think that the small clubs are right in this one. If it goes to this then the rich clubs will get even richer and soon there's no competition in the whole Serie A at all.

Btw, Berlusconi aka Mafioso is just a joke. The guy is a prime minister and he tries to change the laws for the good of his businesses. Then he claims there's nothing wrong with it. This can happen only in Italy. Well it's the same with Galliani...no wonder both Galliani and Berlusconi have something to do with Milan.

I disagree. The small clubs must realise football is a business not a communist organization where everybody gets the same. The big clubs get the bigger tv deals cause they contribute the most fans to the tv companies so it makes business sense for the tv companies to give them the bigger deals. The small clubs should rather concentrate on improving themselves and attracting more fans so they can get the big deals as well.

For the sake of Serie A, it is true that the Mediaset - Juve deal will probably spell an end to the word "competition" in Serie A. The big clubs are getting stronger and the gaps between the Big 3 and the rest of the clubs will only grow bigger. Hence, in the spirit of competition, such an individual deal between Mediaset - Juve is a catastrophe.

However, rewarding those who do not do well is also a principle that shouldn't be practised. Why should clubs who do not do well be rewarded with something that other clubs have worked hard for? It may eventually cause the small clubs to be complacent and just strive for survival, not to do well.

For me, a better solution will be to impose transfer and salary caps. Or, to pool the money from the TV deal and divide it accordingly in respective of the clubs' league position.
