Season-defining match.

Hope that after the cold shower in Spezia players WOKE THE FUCK UP and prepared properly (no alcohol, nutrition, sleep, etc).

Lukaku was actually really good in the first leg. Well, good by his standards. He seemed eager to score or contribute in other ways. Dzeko played for almost an hour and contributed nothing.
So Inzaghi will probably start Dzeko to hold the ball and then unleash Lukgakgu when opposition is tired?

The issue I have with that is what has Dzeko done in the past 2 months? Literally nothing

We‘d be better off starting all the midfielders and playing Mkhi behind Lautaro but obviously Inzaghi only knows 1 formation

Porto striker Evanilson is available
According to O Joga, Evanilson will be fit enough to be called up for the match.
What is less certain is whether or not the striker will be fit enough to be in the Portuguese side’s starting eleven.
Compared to the 1st leg when Inter barely won 1-0 at home, Porto are getting players back while Skriniar barely started to train and Brozovic might not start either. I won`t even mention the form of Inter strikers (Alexis Sanchez scored 14 goals already this season).

“I don’t believe in luck, luck is something that you have to earn in football.” - Inzaghi before Porto match

Good luck lads, you`ll need it!

Nicola Ventola suggested that he’d rather start Dzeko alongside Lautaro Martinez against Porto, stating that “Dzeko is a complete player.”
“His technical ability means that he can always affect the game, he helps the team tick over,” he suggested of the Bosnian.
“Romelu doesn’t have that same quality.”

All our strikers are misfiring and underperforming. It's hard to pick who should play alongside Lautaro, but I slightly moving toward Dzeko as he has done better in the CL than the rest.

If Dzeko plays the role he played against Barca at Kamp Nou I am all for it. He was good at receiving the ball on the edge of the final third and accelerating the attack with his through balls. Lukaku on the other hand scored our only goal against Porto at home, so it's a hard choice, but Inzaghi can always sub him on if things go south with Dzeko. Hope he does it on time.

Ideally this is a game where Lukaku could be useful due to his speed and strength but if he's barely even considered as a starter, what a waste...

Porto will be looking for a goal and they have very slow center backs. And we have nothing to throw at them.... Gosens would have been a delight here, but even if he were fit he wouldn't have started. But even as a sub, him and Lukaku should have been the deciding factors if we don't - we won't - impose ourselves in the fixture.

Porto have a strong recent history against Italian teams in European competitions, having dealt painful blows to Napoli, Roma, Juventus and Milan over the last nine years
In the 2013-14 season, Porto knocked Napoli out of the Europa League in the quarter-finals, winning 3-2 on aggregate.

In the quarter-finals of the Champions League in the 2018-19 campaign, the Portuguese outfit eliminated Roma with a 4-3 aggregate victory.

Two years later Porto again showed an Italian team the door, this time sending Juventus home after a 4-4 aggregate win in the Champions League quarter-finals, when away goals still came into play.

Finally, Porto repeated their work in the Champions League group stages in the 2021-22 season, when they beat and drew Milan in two group stage clashes, leaving the Rossoneri at the bottom of their group.
Good luck Inzaghi!

MOST INTER FANS ALLOWED INTO PORTO MATCH, BUT WITHOUT SCARVES
After hours of tense negotiations, all but 150 Inter fans will be allowed into the Estadio do Dragao for tonight’s Champions League game with FC Porto, but they cannot bring Nerazzurri scarves or flags.

It kicks off at 20.00 GMT and there had been real concerns that circa 1,000 fans who made the trip would not be given permission to enter the arena.

This is because they had tickets for areas other than the specifically-assigned away section and there were fears of crowd trouble.

A diplomatic solution was found after talks and most will be allowed into the stadium.

The only exceptions are the 150 who got tickets that were set in the section where the most passionate home supporters are camped out.

There is one issue, as the Inter fans who do enter in these ‘neutral’ sections of the stadium must not bring with them any scarves, flags or other items of clothing that will make them easily identifiable as Nerazzurri supporters.
