I think it will be either England or Brazil.
Hard to root for Argentina when the coach is a douchebag and Cambiasso&Zanetti not in the squad.

SE SALTELLI....
if the dutch had a decent defense, it would be a walk in the park. this year seems to be the year of the underdog. the smaller names a really making an impact.

It would be nice to see one of the dark-horses win it. Either that or one of the countries that have never won it before. I've been an Azzurri supporter since I was 8 (despite only having a small amount of Italian in me) but it's getting harder and harder to cheer them on with the lack of Inter players in the squad. A big fat 0 this WC season compared to 2 in 2006 (we already knew Grosso was coming) I guess club loyalty is more important to me but I'll still cheer them on.

Anyways, my picks are Netherlands and Ivory Coast

I think England, Brazil (as always) and Spain are favourites this year and with Capello I think England have that mentality which gives them a bit of an edge. Then there is Argentina and Germany who are always outsiders in competitions like this, but I think there may be a few surprises and even though they were terrible against Mexico I expect Italy to arrive to the quarters at least and if they're there you can never count the Italians out.

Changed my mind on Holland and Argentina :D

Those who said Brazil or Spain probably will get their prediction right!

I can ever see Italy winning it at the moment. Can't really say. France and Argentina have good squads, but lousy managers. France already reached a final with a lousy coach, why not Argentina?

I don't think Spain can win it. I mean, they CAN, but I don't think they will. I find it extremely hard.

Pretty clear Spain and Brazil are the most in form at the moment.

The English need to fix their midfield problem, then they might stand a chance, they should have plenty of time until knock out stage to solve their problems, but a lot depends on Gareth Barry's fitness. I don't know much about Netherlands, but their defense on paper doesn't look that great. Germany has a lot of youth in its squad, so there could be some inexperience issues.

Still, I don't know who to root for. I guess it's Brazil, since they got our Inter defense on the field. :)

Well to be honest Yuko, if they win the next two group games, that loss against Switzerland means jack shit...
