from what I’ve seen so far from Gosens. He’s nothing special. Perisic will be greatly missed on the left flank. I hope he proves me wrong

Not watching the match but i like what i read from you guys about Asllani. We badly need him to end up good else we will have a huge problem in midfield.

Gosens is fine when he has to sprint forward and tap the ball in goal or pass it. When he has the ball in his feet, he's horrible... Same as Dumfries.

This is my fear with him. He's nowhere close to being as multi-dimensional as Perisic. He benefited greatly from the Atalanta system, moreso than actual individual talent IMO. He's a good player but definitely will struggle to replicate the creativity we became used to.

He and Perisic have different style.

Gosens can score with like Dumfries, but cant cross and stepover like Perisic.

We need Hakimi or Cuadrado in other flank to maximize Gosens potential.

Actually agree with this, if it's true he was scouted by ausilio than congrats to him. I v had huge doubts about asllani, but so far it seems he is our best purchase.

It was clear from the start Gosens is not gonna be like Perisic. We need to adjust our game to his strengths and not expect him to play like Perisic. I'd say Dumfries and Gosens are a bit alike going forward, but it's possible Gosen's grosses aren't as good as Dumfries'. Gosens box run instincts are however at least as good as Perisic's.

So far only Asllani is shining in the first two matches, Bellanova is less involved than last match. Gosens had a couple of nice passes but not much else. The rest of the squad has been meh. The defense is sub-par, fortunately, none are picked to be starters.

I had said this when we were first linked with Gosens.

Another issue i have with Gosens is he looks to me closer to Dumfries than Perisic. He may have many assists but he isn't a creator and i think we need a creator on the left side. Atalanta were mostly starting their attacks from the right with Hateboer and Gosens found himself in advantageous positions due to the system.
