Inzaghi trolling with Cordaz sub, it's not like we just signed a goalkeeper that should be our future and need play time to gel and get back condition.
someone explain this. why didnt Onana play?

Precisely why Dybala was a massive loss. Perisic created 90% of our offense last year. As good as Gossens is, he's a different type of attacking wingback. Gonna be a problem this year.
How much did Gosens played in this Inter that you so sure he's downgrade compare to Perisic?

He’s mostly injured. That’s a downgrade in itself given that Ivan was almost ever present.
No, he doesnt. He was on the bench because Perisic was world class, not because he was injured.

we would have easily score 1-2 goals with lautaro and lukaku, Dzeko and Correa were trash and no reference point for the team, every time they had to step up. Hopefulyl the last time i have to see this duo together on field for more then 45 minutes.

Not worried despite the loss. Lukaku showed that he could still bully defenders with his pace and strength. Lautaro's misses were terrible, no excuse. But his chemistry with Lukaku and his ability to get into those scoring positions were promising signs. On a good day, he would have converted those. Mikhitaryan looked good also. The quick link up between him and Lukaku which was followed by that cross from the left was decent. Defense was a bit shaky, but it's pre-season. It was not even our best defensive line-up as Skriniar and Gosens weren't available. Darmian was questionably starting as a RCB too, though it was understandable. Match fitness wise, Inzaghi wanted to give both him and Dumfries some minutes.

The Lens match actually shows glimpses on what Inzaghi had in mind, and he knows how to use Lukaku; we basically had 2 forms of play in general, before the subs, our threats came from playing from the back, unlock their pressing, our forwards drop back to help make the play and then hit on the pressing break through with 1 or 2 (Hakan or Barella) running from the deep, less pressing from our side, more possession plays, less direct penetrations; with Lukaku and Asllani & Mkhitaryan on the field, our plays are more direct, threats will come more from transitional play, it is obvious when you see how Lazaro played differently with who's on the field, which minimize the exposure of Lukaku's weakness, and maximize his strength, it also enable LM just like before.

The second play style actually makes me understand why we wanted Bremer that much; imagine de Vrij pressing up high :yao:; he will thrive in the first one though, (Game against Barca Sensi's prime time)

It is a pity, we have so much potential and ability to switch to plan B,C,D, but very incomplete at the same time, hope we can work something out.

Before last season goosens hardly ever got injured.
Robin will be a fine wingback for Inter but he will be different to Ivan.

I’m not really going to be too harsh on Correa until I see him with either Lautaro or Lukaku for an extended period of time. No one can play with Dzeko right now, it’s just not physically possible because it’s like playing without a partner.

Many time he is bullshitting, but he is on spot here..We are playing 5 3 2 and that is cause our flanks are shite, no Perisic and probably losing Dumfries gonna hurt us big time.

Give it a break. There hasn't been one serious link about Dumfries leaving.

He's been linked to United (earlier in the summer) and also Chelsea is interested.

And just today some paper reiterated this United link.

None is a serious link. United have van Bissaka which actually the same type of player. Makes no sense for United.
And from Chelsea came also exactly 0 inquiries.

Definitely. This is the exact area where Bremer thrived last season, destroying Vlahovic twice in the process. He was super physical, stuck to him like glue, came out extremely quickly whenever the ball was played to Vlahovic, and BEAT him to the ball every single time with a combination of game-reading, speed, explosive strength and fantastic timing.

Coincidentally, Vrij has been dismal in these exact areas in the past 12 months. I noted countless times last season how he would unsuccessfully run forward to mark a striker dropping deeper to receive a pass. However due to his utter lack of pace and athleticism, he would rarely beat the attacker to the ball. With his mental fragility plainly apparent, he was visibly timid and hesitant in the challenge too. As a result, he would frequently lose out on these duels and find himself stranded up the pitch leaving a gaping hole behind in the center of our defence, all the while being far too slow to recover. Honestly it was quite pathetic to watch.

That’s why we might even be better off with Bastoni - Skriniar - Milenkovic. Even if I don’t love Milenkovic he is at least a better athlete than De Vrij. The way the game has evolved being athletic in defense is less optional and more of a requirement. Just look at the top teams in Europe and who they have at CB. There’s less and less slow guys relying purely on positioning and reading of the game. That’s why there’s hardly any market for a 30 year old international with one year left on his contract.
