According to Olaprasina1908, Inter spent €450,000 to sign Romano from the Greek giants.

Strange that it keeps being reported that he was signed from another club while on transfermarkt he appeared to be out of contract / free player.
He didn't have a pro deal yet so Panathinaikos is entitled to whatever FIFA instructed as youth development fees.

Which is roughly 400-500k and future % on all transfers

Apparently we signed this guy today , Dino Putsen from Jönköping Södra .
For as much as we can complain about youtube links not being reliable , not having any clip whatsoever online is even more worrisome xD

So is Kamarda xp
Your point being?

Yes Yamal is also 16 and Camarda is 16. No one has claimed this one to be some wonderkid.

Highly unusual 16 year old player to have any YouTube clips.

My point being that as fans we are allowed to dream.
99% of the fans who actually watch youth level football ( like the ones from us that contribute in this thread) do so because they dream to find there the next Ronaldo , messi , maradona etc, especially if they play in midfield and above.

You don't see at an unknown kid with the hope that he can become a professional level player and be the next Darmian . When you hear that we signed a nobody from x league you hope that he is the next big thing , and if there is no youtube link most probably means that he is not because in this day and age , if you dribble past 5 players and score , trust me , someone filmed it and put it on youtube whether you are 16 , 6 or 26

That said not bashing the signing and hope the kid a great future

According to La Repubblica, a proficient dribbler is likely to be one of Inter’s priorities in upcoming transfer windows.

Inter have been linked to AZ Almaar`s dutch central midfielder Kees Smit

*** FREE AGENT ALERT ***

Inter Milan and Juventus are ready to go head-to-head to try and sign teenage Roma goalkeeper Renato Marin

Marin has emerged as a major goalkeeping prospect. The 18-year-old has come through the Roma youth academy system. He is Brazilian-born but represents Italy at international, having done so at up to the Under-19 level.

Marin has played for Roma at various youth levels, up to the Primavera or Under-19 team. And Marin was in the Giallorossi’s matchday squad for their Serie A clash with Napoli. The teenage goalkeeper did not appear in the match, a 1-0 loss for his team. However, new Roma coach Claudio Ranieri’s decision to call him up to the squad represented a big show of confidence.

Tuttosport note that Marin has not only impressed with his shot-stopping ability. The teenage keeper also has impressive technical quality with the ball at his feet.
In fact, Marin has a track record of taking set pieces and penalties at youth team level!

The 18-year-old’s contract with Roma ends at the end of next June. Therefore, he could be free to pick a new club at the end of the season.

And Inter are very much hoping to convince the young goalkeeper to make the switch. The Nerazzurri are not the only club in Serie A who see Marin as a potential goalkeeper for the future, though.

Tuttosport note that Juventus are also targeting Marin. They want to make the teenage keeper part of their Next Gen setup starting next season.

Meanwhile, both Liverpool and Marseille are also eyeing up a move for Marin.

Looks like we`re preparing for that Inter Reserves team.

1.93M tall, seems like the right profile: https://www.transfermarkt.com/renato-marin/profil/spieler/1041614

Theres no way he takes penalties and set pieces at the top level though. It pulls your keeper way out of position. Opponents save a penalty then your dude has to sprint all the way back while they can hoof it up the pitch

I know but have you seen it since?

The only time it makes much sense is if you're losing in like the 85th minute

It depends on your team.
If you have proficient outfield takers you are going to use them. Hence why its very rare.
But if my choice is a keeper who is very good with them or Toro who is guaranteed to miss every second one then I am risking it with the keeper.

In penalty shootout. That's different. Never during matches.

Hans Jörg Butt is a better example who scored many penalty goals. But even he mostly did it at Hamburg and Leverkusen. He wasn't allowed to do it at Bayern barring few exceptions.

yeah, it's 100% great to have a good keeper for penalties for shootouts, but as i said, the risk during a main game unless you're losing and need to win desperately is just massively risky

shoots -> blocked -> hoofed up field to opponent striker -> shoots at an empty goal while your keeper is just passing into the halfway circle

same logic with free kicks

unless you are talking about someone Hakan-esque at penalties (and similar at free kicks) that you felt you had a really good chance of scoring every time they took one, its just too much risk.

With Butt it happened even after scoring a goal.
