Good question. I think this is just what international football has devolved into. There's less talent in the squads than there is at the club level, and all these teams are pretty even in ability. The knockout matches create games where teams are more afraid to lose than anything else. Are we just used to watching Inzaghi football or this Euro is pretty boring?
International football has dropped in quality by a lot in the last 10 years. Some of these big teams are playing like complete shit. Its really hard to even watch these games without scrolling on the phone most of the time.Good question. I think this is just what international football has devolved into. I've found the Copa America a little more enjoyable so far.
A lot of the managers at international level don’t implement a style of play. They just give team a basic framework then hope difference makers can solve matches. The sad part is it kind of works. You look at teams like France and England who have been consistently in semi finals or better of tournaments recently.Good question. or maybe that players have too many games nowadays and there are going to be even more gamesFrance going to the semis without scoring a goal from play would just shows the quality of football lately.
Though this Deschamps mockery of football is something else. He has a player pool full of stars yet he decides to implement this kind of ultra nihilistic Conte shit. It's despicable to me. I understand and accept ultra nihilistic football from teams/countries whose player material is not up to par to the best. France is the opposite, their player material is one of the best yet they play this fucken shithousery football. Scoring zero open play goals (one penalty and 2x OG) to get to semi-finals is just ridiculous.A lot of the managers at international level don’t implement a style of play. If you just don’t beat yourself you always have a chance when you’ve got world class players. Being defensively tough to breakdown and letting your difference makers make the difference is still a viable strategy in International football.

In before they win the tournament by beating Spain and the finalist on penalties after two goalless draw.France are in the semi final with two own goals and a penalty![]()
Really disgusting team.France are in the semi final with zero open play goals scored. First time ever in the history of the Euros.
And he had a great game. Not surprised no one mentioned.Great. Another English referee
Also lot of managers at international level are really bad managers. Dalić,Martinez,Southgate,Deschamps,Koeman...
