Can all threads that had no post in a very long while (you decide if that's 12, 18, 24, 36 etc months) get auto locked or something? I fear the next thing I'll see is an "Inter idea Lavezzi" thread have the latest post.

Can we ban nelson from creating threads? Clutters the forum with useless shit, and most of it doesn’t even seem like it’s meant for discussion, it’s just there to exist.

Nelson opened a thread about favourite leagues Brehme created from 2015 was it? I had no idea it was an old thread but a great thread as well, it has great potential for discussion and there are a lot of new people on these forums since then, also when new threads are created every now and then you see "we already have that waaa"

There is also a lot of nice forum tools, like new posts.. have a quick browse.. doesn't interest you don't click, mark forums read (all of them, 1 button!)

My point is, I don't see the problem in what our friend is doing, we should be lucky to have members who keep forums like these so active because when I started posting regularly it was the start of the whatsapp era and I am sorry to say these forums were pretty dead at the time, no offence.

"Couldn't find any threads with this specific topic, so here goes:

Bosingwa to QPR
Daniel Alves to São Paulo
Willian to Arsenal"

These are examples of threads with "potential for great discussion"? What are you smoking?! Just look at how uninterested people are in engaging with that sort of nonsense, based on the replies.

There's a difference between bumping old, already-existing threads - sometimes it actually acts as a framework for discussion, most of the times it's an amusing inlook at the time-capsule that is FIF - and clocking the forum with spam. Why is there a thread in flamers' paradise about a random Tottenham player we were briefly linked with?
Why is there a thread about one of the smallest nations in Europe's national team? We don't even have any San Marinese members.
If 'activity' or number of threads is a goal in and of itself, why not just create a thread for every single topic in the world?

He's already been told to cool it down with the thread creating, to no avail.

For the record, I think Nelson as a member has been a good addition to the forums overall, but there's a reason we have rules regarding thread creation.

If you read my post I said the favourite leagues thread had great potential bud. I don't doubt rules should be adhered too but if you follow the steps I also mentioned you skip these threads without even clicking :) I had no idea threads like alves to sao paulo bosingwa to qpr willian to arsenal existed until your post, for example.

Like the match discussions I just feel people around here get far to angry and worked up over nothing. No offence.

Threads that have no response for over 1-2 years should just be locked automatically. Our dear necromancer is just taking the piss at this point

nah, don't agree, but I can understand how much work you need to put in to actually work good
