I don't think you read the original post properly... 12 points were not "EXPECTED", they were "REQUIRED" if we were to challenge for the 3rd spot.

Actually the original post starts by explaining why 3rd spot was ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE for Inter - this at a time when a lot of FIF members were talking about 3rd spot being possible. The idea of this post was to analyse what Mancini/Inter need to do in Jan & Feb to make this impossible dream look plausible, and highlight how difficult & unlikely that goal is.
