It's called paraphrasing for the sake of shortening the sentence, and it's pretty faithful paraphrasing.

"Attacking midfielder that doesn't shoot, score or has any game changing abilities as a sub, only because he's better than Alvarez, Valero and Joao Mario", there's your exact quote. Are we really going to argue about semantics and is that argument going to make you feel more validated for writing something so damn stupid?

He has qualities such as dribbling, passing, holding the ball, opening up space and of course some more. I didn't say he's useless. But he can do things that many can and most of them do not cost over 15m. Just because we waste money on useless midfielders doesn't excuse fans asking to waste more for relatively more useful players. This isn't a video game where you can discover that you have another 40m next summer to throw around if you're not happy with the 35m you spent this summer.

Rafinha ended up at Inter via sheer luck and the lack of funds we had for targets like Pastore etc. You need to make a careful plan before throwing around money, let alone 35m. There's nothing planned to suggest that we need Rafinha and we should exercise the option, especially since we only got him to fill a roster gap. He's good, but not 35m good. And it's not just on the pitch qualities that you seek but the full package. And he's too risky for 35m.

You claim he has no game changing abilities and that's where our discussion should end because we clearly see things differently, for me he is the most game changing person in our squad alongside Cancelo.
Yes, he did end up here by almost accident but so what? Watch the past performances you can see that he is far better than Pastore who we wanted so badly in january to the point where nobody even mentions Pastore now.

You bringing up qualities outside the pitch only works in my favor. Dude started learning italian immediately and appears commited to the cause, plus he said that he wants to stay here. His football skills aside, he celebrates our goals more than most guys in our squad. Yes I might be biased a bit because I ended up liking this guy so much out of nowhere but it's clear as a day that we are actually playing well when he is on the pitch. Sabatini is gone, are you really willing to risk rolling the dice on another player who might be 5mil cheaper?

This guy is light years ahead of anyone we currently have in terms of the big picture offensively. The only downside is that he isn't 100% fit but he also didn't really look tired on this third game in a row so you can't really bring that up, unlike Candreva who was literally limping out. Sell the Dambrosios, Candrevas and Santons and buy/loan cheap replacements. Don't drop the ball instead on a good player like him.

I agree with Brehme atm, sure he has shown quality but he hasn't shown enough IMO to warrant a purchase at 35m. If he scores a couple of goals and gets some assists sure. I think everyone is giving Rafinha the credit for the goals we scored vs Samp and Hellas, but its actually been Brozovic that has been key to it. Rafinha still has more to prove before we purchase him

The ideal situation would be if we could loan him one more season so he can become 100% fit. Train all summer for himself and the squad so he can have a good start. When you come into a team which is struggling (as Inter was in january) and you come back after a very long injury you can't expect miracles from him. When he was at Barcelona he showed he can score and assist. I was and am a big fan of him and would really like him to stay at Inter. But 35 million is alot of money for Inter to spend so atm i have to agree with Brehme I hope Rafinha can change that view the next matches.

It all comes down to what our funds are. But also what are our options. If there are AMs available for less than 35m€ with about equal quality, that should be explored. Rafinha is super important. Without him on the pitch, we lack movement badly (of course skill etc. too). But difference to Cancelo is that IMO he isn't that unique. We can't get another Cancelo level RB, they are not available. But for Rafinha, I think the market is more open, there's more Rafinha-like options perhaps?

That's a very good sign he says something like that. It could even turn to our favor since we can renegotiate with Barca and Rafinha is pushing the transfer too.

GdS says that Ausilio will ask Barca for a nother year of loan for the kid or renegotiate a lower fee than 38mil... after the kid expressing his desire to stay in Nerazzurro Milano

Yeah the will of the lad is ever so important but will Barca agree to our peasantry?!

RAFINHA: “I’M HAPPY AND CONFIDENT AT INTER”
Wednesday saw the Brazilian midfielder attend the 200th-anniversary celebrations for Brooks Brothers: “We want to win in Bergamo”

MILAN - Class and elegance both on and off the pitch. Brazilian midfielder Rafinha accompanied Spalletti and a number of his teammates on Wednesday, as they all attended an event to celebrate Brooks Brothers 200th anniversary. The celebrations of FC Internazionale Milano’s Official Formalwear and Footwear were held on via San Pietro all’Orto in Milan.

During the event, the Nerazzurri No.8 spoke to Mediaset Premium about how he’s settled at the club and how the team are currently doing: “I’m very happy to be here and it’s all going well. I am playing which is important because it allows me to improve and also get back to peak condition. My goal is to be ready when the coach calls and to do all that he asks of me.”

“Our next match will be important, just like the one against Torino was. We created lots of chances but we were unlucky. Now we must focus on Atalanta because it will be a tough game. We’re heading to Bergamo with the aim of winning. We know it’ll be a key test and we’re aware that all of our remaining matches are now important. I wanted to come to Inter right from the first moment. I feel at home here and I’m happy. Champions League? I’ve been confident since day one. Inter are a great side and we have the chance to reach our objective.”

Spalletti:

"Rafinha is a good footballer who can give us a big hand. Inter knows and knew in the past how to get by even without such players. He has to be evaluated from time to time but he’s certainly a strong player and he’s currently in right shape to be picked for a strong team such as Inter."

Pre-Atalanta match press conference

Seems like he's bracing himself and us for not retaining Rafinha.

We shouldn't be purposely crippling ourselves by starting each and every fucking season without a proper AM. Especially if you go on to play a formation containing an AM and shoehorn Broz, Mario or Eder in there and wonder why they suck.

Even though they were completely different formations under completely different coaches, for some reason, Eder as AM keeps bringing back violent flashbacks to Mazzarri's 3511 with Guarin and Palacio as up front.

He can't combine attacks as he want because other teammates suck at "off the ball". Look how he maneuvers on right after he passes the ball, he immediately shifts his position making triangle like trajectory. La masia at it's best

What the fuck guy?

Here's an idea. Instead of wasting 35m on Rafinha, let's use those funds to bring 4 or 5 players from middle tier leagues with championship experience to add freaking depth and character to this team.

Yeah filling the midfield with Kharjas, Kuzmanovics etc served us so well in the past. How about putting some semi-competent technical players around Rafinha and watch him actually be useful.

I'm not talking about them, those were midtable Serie A transfers. Those should be done when you're already covered with your main squad and depth and you're just trying to change a few things up.

Catasgne of Atalanta falls into this category. (4m)
Karlsdrop of Roma. (14m)
Under of Roma is also one of these examples. (14m)
Milenkovic of Fiorentina. (5m)
Kownacki of Sampdoria. (4m)
Barak of Udinese. (3m)
Centurion of Genoa. (5m)

Remove one of the two Roma transfers and you have 35m worth of transfers. (both were around 15m)
You will argue that Rafinha is better, but as I debated in the previous page, he's not a game changer. He's not a world class talent. He's not worth 35m. You can add needed depth with that figure. And you can also play the odds. One could argue that at least 30% of the transfers do not work out. I'd rather see it happen with 3 players out of 10 that are on average costing 15m than see it happened with 1 player costing 35m out of three similar transfers.

We have a good enough core squad, we just need a few major improvements and most of all we need depth.
