I think Darmian was solid in defense. Against serious opponent I'd like to see Darmian - Bastoni. Not an offensive threat, but more reliable defensively than Dimarco.

He was good defensively but was nonexistential in attack.

He has a decent speeed, but I didn't like how he gave up when the ball was about to go off the touchline. Usually you'd expect youngsters do crazy amount of works, but this dude showed some lazyness signs. Even Barella who was on a farther position tried to get that ball.

I actually don't question his ability on crossing the ball; feel like it is more about hesitation, like really? Crossing from here? Should I be the one to do that?
Trying to look for a lead from other players, which isn't a bad thing. This should get better by time.

The only problem I see with him right now is when he is in certain situations, his next moves are very predictable, but most of them would still force a semi-decent results like comers or half space created.

He is actually a good player for his age, if the team is more stable, has leaders or senior dudes that can guide him on the plays.

Tbh, he has barely played and today was a high pressure game especially in the last minutes. The hesitation can go away if he plays and actually get a feeling with how his teammates move imo.
He needs to play more. Him and Asllani need to be integrated I don't know what the fuck is Inzaghi doing with Darmian and Gagliardini.
