He is afraid to take responsibility when it's needed. This is his biggest issue. The other one is that he uses only his right foot. Otherwise he has speed and dribbling, but it looks like he cannot bear the pressure at Inter. I watched him last season, and he looked promising, but it is one thing to play for Cagliari, and completely another for Inter. Some people just cannot make the transition.

And this is exactly a point why youngsters are used so sparingly. They cannot take it just like that. Meazza is a scary place to play. Not only for the opponents but also for Inter players if they can't handle it. Prime example from recent years was Dalbert who completely fell apart at Meazza. Bellanova hasn't been the same (because the team around him is so much better), he's played okay in Meazza aswell but Empoli match was an example of the pressure you have there.

You are right. After the overwhelming frustration due to his performance, I thought twice about it, and the main fault is on Inzaghi as someone here mentioned. It's idiotic to throw so young and inexperienced player when we are a man down, everybody is going to attack (leaving big gaps on the back), and to expect him to deliver. Bellanova didn't have enough support in some situations, he made mistakes and therefore he shat his pants.

Italian journalist Fabio Ravezzani believes that the only reason that Inter signed Cagliari wingback Raoul Bellanova was because they also wanted to sign Bremer from Torino
Speaking to Italian broadcaster Telelombardia, via FCInter1908, Ravezzani claimed that as he understands it, the fact that Bellanova and Bremer share an agent was a key factor in the Nerazzurri’s decision to sign Bellanova.

Bellanova was brought in by Inter during last summer transfer window, with the 22-year-old the Nerazzurri’s designated reinforcement at wingback after the departure of Ivan Perisic. The wingback arrived on loan from Cagliari, with the Nerazzurri also having the opposition to sign him on a permanent basis from the Rossoblu at the end of the current season.

Inter had also been chasing then-Torino defender Bremer during the summer, although they missed out on the Brazilian to Juventus.

According to Ravezzani, however, the Nerazzurri’s pursuits of the two players were not entirely separate:

“It was a complementary signing,” he claimed.
“I’ve been told he was signed by Inter in preparation for the Bremer signed, since he has the same agent.”
“Obviously something went wrong,” Ravezzani went on, in reference to the Nerazzurri’s high-profile failure to land Bremer.
Reading this + his performances = Inter not redeeming him might make sense.

But tbh, I call that at least partly bullshit. They have the same agent, okay, but I doubt we definitely wouldn't have brought Bellanova in if his agent was someone else.

All this shit is coming up now when he had a bad performance in front of Meazza, everyone including the whole team expecting some miracles from the guy.

I think people judge him too harsh on that one game here. For him to shine in that 1 man down, sub in game, he needs to have some flair or insane long shot ability like Cassano or Recoba, which Asllani has much more, cause coaches pretty much rely less on tactical plays and hope to utilize players' talents in dire situations.
That is apparently not his strong suit or anything he would develop into, but you put in a good system and give him clear instructions he can carry it out strongly.
Also I think with time he should have better decisions making, and can develop into a solid player.

I think Inzaghi subbed him in that game cause it wasn't probably clear if he has the flair or not at that time, given he is fast and have good dribbles.

I mean someone posted Calicio & Finanza details which revelead that the cost of loan was 4M?! Transfermarkt reports it to be 3M for some reason.
If this is true, the club will have to redeem him as I`m sure that was the plan.

Tuttosh1t: The future of Raoul Bellanova is far from certain, with Inter unwilling to commit to an agreed €7 million to sign him outright from Cagliari this summer.
The 22-year-old has not made the impact that had been hoped when Inter secured him on loan from the Sardinian club last year, and he has only made one league start for the Nerazzurri this season.

Inter have the option to buy the wingback on a permanent deal for €7m at the end of the campaign, but it is reported that they are unlikely to trigger this unless Cagliari agree to reduce this figure.

The Nerazzurri are set to open negotiations with the Serie B club to try to persuade them to lower the arranged fee, having already spent €4m on a loan fee last year.
Tuttosh1t also wrote that Inter are considering Spezia`s Emil Holm and Tajon Buchanan as allternatives. Inter will continue to monitor Holm over the coming months with a view to an approach in the summer, should Bellanova not remain.

PS: idea Nahitan Nández? his value has fallen to only 6.5M now in Serie B and his contract is expiring in 2024.

All these options from Serie A clubs are just masked obligations for FFP purposes. Bellanova redemption was never in doubt. We had even redeemed Politano who was of no use to Conte.

I don't think 7 mil is that much for him. Young , fast guy. It depends on wages.

Lets be honest, Dumbfries has been gone since the 3rd week of the season. The guy looks like he doesn't give a fuck. I still don't know how the club will wanna get 50M for him... I wouldn't give more than 25M and even thats too much perhaps. Also, I can see Inter being retarded and not give up on their stupid request, so they don't sell this guy, but rather sell someone thats actually good, like Bastoni or Barella.

Yeah, I really don't get the rapid decline. I heard rumors, here, that he just doesn't give the correct effort during practice. Whatever, it is best cut bait with him before he becomes a problem in the locker room.
