Alright, so I'm pretty much a total noob so any explanation has to be slow.
I want to create a rating widget/application for a website, where users can rate something, the widget compiles avgs, and so on, and later displays them. All I'm familiar is basic HTML/CSS and am slightly confused with front-end/back-end stuff, and I am unclear with the roles of JavaScript/JQuery and PHP (except that PHP interacts with database).
Leaving MySQL aside for a second, what would be the roles of JavaScript and PHP here? So an explanation of these 2 languages with respect to this specific task so I know what to look out for when learning them. :teeth:
