Watching these videos brings me so much joy. Loved watching these legends as a kid.

I am always a bit guilty for liking that Lazio team, such a dream team and even worse I liked Nesta so much and wanted him to be at Inter (I know you don't rate Nesta that much, but just my fixation back then), and before Veron went to United and became shit LOL
Also I think why Mancini was so fixated on him at Inter, cause he saw the best of him back then LOL

Games felt so different back then, but I was too young to fully understand everything and can't even catch every game, felt more midfield battling than now.

If I remember correctly @brehme1989 , I apologize if I remember it incorrectly.

With that said, I really think Italy was better of with Matrix in 2006 for some odd reasons, and Nesta's injury was some kinda blessing in digues.

Dafuq?

Nesta was impeccable.
He was betrayed by Cragnotti, the guy was supposed to be a one club man at Lazio.

On Facebook I get a lot of anecdotes from football.
There are some interesting ones from Inter aswell.

I'll start with Bergkamp:

When I moved to Italy, Cruyff was completely against it. He wanted me to follow him to Barcelona, but the Italian league was better at that time. I ruled out moving to Milan because I didn’t want to go there, as they already had Gullit, Rijkaard, and Van Basten. The options left were Juventus and Inter.

The Inter coaches promised me a lot: for example, they said I would play more attacking football. We played that style for about a month... I got along well with everyone, from Bergomi to Ferri, from Battistini to Berti. I was only disappointed with Ruben Sosa, because we could have connected better on the field, but perhaps I annoyed him as well. However, off the field, I didn’t have any problems with anyone.

But my relationship with the press didn’t work out. Journalists expected me to give interviews every day, but I was against that, which angered them.

In England, I couldn’t score in the first 7 or 8 matches and the press criticized me for football reasons only. But in Italy, in such cases, they started making up ridiculous stories about me. For example, when I cut my hair, they wrote that I had started going bald because playing in the Italian league was too exhausting for me.

Dennis Bergkamp, the Dutch football legend and the one who won the UEFA Cup with Inter.

Not sure if it has been posted. I was 14 watching it on a small tv alone. 24 years later and still the same feeling :proud:

The famous Italian referee Collina, when asked about the greatest moment in his refereeing career, said: "It was the last two minutes. I saw Bayern’s players on the bench getting ready to celebrate the title, and the fans in the stadium were already rejoicing in their team’s Champions League victory. Suddenly, Manchester United scored two goals in two minutes and turned the game around. I will never forget how the English stands erupted with an incredible roar, like lions roaring, while there was a funeral-like silence in Bayern’s stands. United’s players were celebrating their second goal hysterically when I noticed one of Bayern’s players collapsed on the ground, utterly devastated and feeling immense disappointment. I approached him, and I couldn’t find anything to say except, 'Get up and fight! You still have twenty seconds!' At that moment, I saw the true face of football, life and death on the same pitch. Some were celebrating like crazy, while others were drowning in despair!"
