FC Utrecht defender, 26, dies in sleep
Posted: Tuesday Nov 29, 2005 5:52 AM

AMSTERDAM, Netherlands (AP) - FC Utrecht defender David di Tommaso died in his sleep at age 26, the club said Tuesday. The cause of death wasn't immediately known.

The French-born di Tommaso was voted the team's player of the year last season by fans.

He began his professional career at AS Monaco before moving to Sedan for four seasons, and joined Utrecht last season.

Dutch media reported Di Tommaso may have had a heart problem, but the club could not immediately confirm that.

RIP :(

(All these heart attack deaths make me really suspicious about the "diet" that players must follow...)

Heart is a weird thing, it can stop and kill you no mather what job do you do, no matter what you eat etc.
Every day thousands of ppl die cause of heartattacks but we don't know who they are, so it's almost nothing strange that guys like foe, tomasso, feher died, it's sad to see, and strange, but actually there is nothing strange ,it's just heart, it works and stops like that. mine can stop right now...so can your too...

but yeah, it's pitty to see soccer player die on pitch. Now every time I see a player on the ground, like adriano against empoli, I close my eyes and wish he doesn't die. I never did that before foe....
it's so sad

That's true, but it's really strange for an athlete who does so much physical exercise, doesn't eat shit and his everyday living isn't riotous, to die from a heart attack.

Do you know many people under 30, who have this standar of living, to have suffered a heart attack?
I don't...
