Thought he was fine today. We took him out at the right time though. He was starting to get sloppy. Let’s not forget he has started a ton of matches back to back.

Hopefully we see Brozo - Barella next match with Eriksen in front

What a clown. I only blame Conte and not him for playing him every single match.

Cant believe he got away with “fine” after being out of the position most of the time, exposing the defense, with almost zero presence in attack. Best way to describe him: he is a midfielder with no midfielder attributes. Also playing back to back games is not an excuse.

Inter is the only club where complete mediocrity gets called "fine"... and people wonder why its been 9 years since we've won a trophy.

He was better then Brozovic for me. Brozo was the one who almost led to us conceding 1 minute after scoring. Barella’s passing was also all over the place. That’s just his midfield partners, I could name some others that were way worse. It wasn’t a great performance but he’s not the reason we struggled today.

He was our best midfielder today, which just further proves we need to overhaul the position.

He was fine until he wasn't. Probably up to the 50th minute? That said, we're in a shit position in midfield tbh, there is no great solution.

Brozovic was mediocre today and set up to fail playing as AM. No clue what the fuck Conte was thinking with that bullshit. Just play a 352 at all times unless Eriken is playing. Barella was obviously only back from injury so it's not fair to really blame him but he was mediocre as well.

Regardless, it's Conte who must take the blame for a lot of today. Even playing Brozovic as DM and instructing the midfielders to pack in tight would've done a lot to mitigate Roma's midfield superiority. Instead, we had this 20m gap between the front 3 and the CM's. However, that is always the case when playing 3412 because Conte hasn't yet worked out the mechanics of that system, especially in defense.

Also, it's hard to know whether to blame Conte & his staff or some insane bad luck, or whether these players are just fucken crocked. Vecino reportedly needs knee surgery, and when the fuck did it just become a known thing that the season was over for Sensi? Fucking cunts. The whole lot of them.

He had one good breakthrough in the middle, I guess that's fine for his standards. We'll just ignore the fact that he cannot pass the ball from a 5m distance to another player.

Presumably you're referring to this line I wrote: "it's Conte who must take the blame for a lot of today."

You're asking who he's supposed to play, as if my criticism was based on Conte's choice of personnel. My criticism was actually based on how he set up the players, not on the selection of players. I literally followed it up the very next sentence by saying: "Even playing Brozovic as DM and instructing the midfielders to pack in tight would've done a lot to mitigate Roma's midfield superiority."

In other words, take the same players and play them in a flat 352 instead of a 3412 with Brozovic further up the pitch.

Feel free to argue the tactical merits of that statement but actually read the statement next time.

What's this sudden love of Conte for Gagliardini? He has started in every single Serie A game since the restart. And some people are expecting him to get sold in the summer

Barella is suspended and next game is vs Genoa. He's gonna be the only booked starter again.

evidently, conte sees in him some characteristics that he doesn't see in others, and that he deems useful. mostly, i presume, being helpful in disrupting the opponent's attack.

but it's time to find in the market someone with similar characteristics but a much better technique, so that gagliardini gets relegated to the bench, which is where he belongs.

Not because of Gagliardini though.

He shouldn't start but with Sensi being injured, Vecino being equally as bad and injured, there are really no alternatives. We need to find better replacements so that we don't have to rely on players like Gagliardini or Vecino for anything else than warming the bench or starting against Benevento and SPAL sometimes.

I think it's because all of Vecino, Brozo, and Barella had recent injuries and most probably Conte doesn't want to risk their health too much. Papa Valero also cannot manage to play every game, so it's only Gagliardini who left as imminent starter.

1000x this. Ideally we would sell him so in emergency situations we would have different players taking the burden.

With Brozovic, Sensi, Barella & Vecino injured for all/most of these games and the rotation required due to the annoying schedule, it basically means that Conte prefers Gagliardini over Valero. I can understand that.

Maybe this will help increase Gagliardini's market value. Though watching him play I fear his value decreases with every minute.

Even when Brozovic and Barella returned Gagliardini was the only one who never got a rest.
