Seriously though, it can always get worse, but that's not the reason to settle for mediocrity. He needs to work on his end of the bargain. In the last 12 months he got almost everything he asked for and gave next to nothing in return.

Haven't seen much of him. I know he had one great year with Livorno, but that's about it. He has only been coaching for 6-7 years.

God, the replacements that are circulating here make me sound like a Mancini fanboy, but as I said a couple of times already we either make it proper, by hiring Simeone or Pellegrini at least, or we should just stick to what we have.

I guess,perhaps we are all so frustrated with Mancini,that he makes every other coach considerable at the moment.

This is what I'm saying. There is really no good options left at this point of the summer. Okay, Pellegrini is free, but no idea if he wants to come back or want take longer vacation or is interested coaching at Inter at all etc.

I'm not very familiar with De Boer's achievements as a coach. Can someone provide some info please?

De Boer is coming off a Cinque di Maggio Cuper-esque title loss to PSV.Ajax had the title on a lock and were on top for most of last season and then on the last matchday Ajax needed a win and ended up being held to a draw at home!


But he had made Ajax dominant in the previous seasons and although they failed in Europe it was basically because Ajax have their policy of youngsters.

In his time he has lost players like Erikson,Blind,Van der Wiel,Alderwiereld,Kishna,Bojan,Sulejmani,Siem De Jong etc. but I guess it is easier to rebuild in the Dutch Eredivisie than elsewhere.


I have no idea whether he is ready to step up to a big league like ours though although he is vastly experienced as a player and then as a coach with the Dutch NT and Ajax.

But if he is rooted to the Dutch philosophy of total football and 4-3-3 then I am not sure if that will work out in our league because I recall Luis Enrique tried that possession 4-3-3 stuff with Roma and he failed.

De Boer

had 5 great years at Ajax, celebrating 4 titles in a row. Responsible for the development of likes like Kishna (not so great), Milik, Blind, Siem De Jong, Bazoer, El Ghazi, Cillessen, Eriksen, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Anita, Van der Wiel. Dutch style of football meaning a lot of possession and control over the game. De Boer has a tactical brain though. His victories over Barcelona & City are among those games who could mean something tactically.

He can work with a team that's losing major assets each year
Experienced in defensive plays

Ajax had the biggest budget in the league, so naturally he shouldn't have had much competition at all
New competition also means a new tactical plan, he played 4-3-3 most times

Anyway my opinion is that we should take the risk, but take it now then. Not 4 games in the competition.

Bielsa seems a indecisive turd and I believe we can kiss dealing with Lazio for a long time goodbye. (positive : no candreva or 30+, negative : no Anderson or Keita ) However, Bielsa is a great coach. With the right players he can work magic.

Villas Boas, hmm well. I wouldn't say no. He has interesting ways, but his latest jobs weren't great successes. Still better than Mancio.

Prandelli, he does know the Italian league, knows the ways, wouldn't require much. But I don't know about him.

The fact that Bielsa quit Lazio after 2 days and has a pending lawsuit over his head, he makes no sense from the legal aspect alone. De Boer is a youth guru, and his resume at Ajax doesn't lie. He is attack minded, and also plays a fitting 4-3-3 style. Of course the downside is he has no experience in Italy, but he seems smart enough to adjust on the fly unlike Mancini.

I can't see De Boer succeeding in Italy especially with the players we have. Bielsa and Pellegrini are my preferred candidates. Pellegrini has recently said he is in search for a club with good project and had already showed interest to work in serie A.
