Wouldn't be surprised if he's making himself available for the Premier League.

To be honest he has a very good start of the seaso nwith Zenit AND the Zenit management HAS bought him some very useful players like Mamanna,Paredes,Kranevitter,Driussi,Noboa, etc.

Compare that with the low budget garbage his predecessor Lucescu had to deal with and he should be very happy.

He's not going to resign just because some dude from Valencia didn't want to join Zenit. But it's probably him or someone acting on his behalf leaking this sort of stuff to the media, as some sort of a warning, "do what I want, or else..."

Yeah Italian newspapers should put Zenit under a lot of pressure...

Mancini: 'Italy Coach before I'm 70'

Zenit Coach Roberto Mancini is impressed by Lazio, Napoli and Inter, but confirms he’d love to take charge of Italy “before I turn 70.”

The 52-year-old tactician spoke to Radio Deejay from St Petersburg about his new experience in Russia.

“I am happy here, the team is young, has been renewed and we’re doing well. Several top level elements left in order to bring down the average age of the squad, but we are top of the table, so I can say I’m pleased.”

Mancio is keeping a close eye on the Italian football scene, even from so far away.

“Lazio are doing very well in Serie A, so I am happy for Simone Inzaghi. It’s the usual suspects for the Scudetto. Napoli play good football and have been together for years, so that is an advantage.

“Inter are a team built slowly and are strong. Milan need time after changing so much, as at times you can do it straight away only to then fall. We’ll see what happens today in Milan-Juve, which will be a very important game.

“Unfortunately for Juventus, they can’t win every year. Napoli and Inter are competitive, so it’ll be a battle between them, with Roma the possible novelty. If they can keep the early pace, they could be dangerous later on.”

As for Mancini’s career prospects, he is in no hurry to replace Giampiero Ventura on the Italy bench.

“I really hope they qualify, because a World Cup without Italy is senseless. I’d like to become CT… before I turn 70. It is the dream of every Coach, but now it’s right that the Nazionale is concentrated on qualification.”

His Zenit's just lost 0-3 to Lokomotiv Moscow.

They were both leading the Russian league at 29 points prior to this game.

Also recently crashed out of the Russian Cup before a second-tier rival.

It's almost as if he instructed someone to pull a Melo over there to send his team in a downward spiral, again.

Half of being a national team coach is picking the right players, he’s always at least seemed to have a decent eye for talent. Jorginho would at least not be about to leave for Brazil.

Adebayor in FIF mode: ‘Mancini a bad Coach’

Emmanuel Adebayor says Roberto Mancini “is not a great Coach”, stating “at every club he goes to, he buys 40 players”.

The pair were together at Manchester City, where Mancio won the Premier League in 2012, but the Togolese international wasn’t impressed by the Zenit St Petersburg water carrier.

“The Coach, Roberto Mancini, didn’t have control over the dressing room,” Adebayor recalled.

“He annoyed the 25 players. Mancini was a great player, but he’s not a great Coach. So far he’s won nothing but the golden bin."

Mancini takes Inter credit

Roberto Mancini believes he is owed some of the credit for Inter’s unbeaten start to the season. “Many of their players arrived when I was there...”

The likes of Miranda, Marcelo Brozovic and Ivan Perisic joined Inter when Mancini was still Coach back in the summer of 2015, with the trio helping the Nerazzurri to second in Serie A after 10 wins and no defeats in their opening 13 matches.

“I’m happy for Inter. I knew it’d be just a matter of time,” the Zenit St Petersburg boss told Domenica Sportiva.

“Many of their players arrived when I was there. We’d built an important squad: I’m thinking Brozovic, Miranda, Perisic and even Kondogbia, one of the best players in La Liga this season.

“Regrets? No. Sometimes you need dignity, and if things don’t go well, you need the courage to make a change.

“Scudetto? It’ll be contested by those currently near the top if they stay up there. Juve? They never died.”

I think we talked about this interview in the Serie A thread.

I find it funny that he's claiming credit for other's successes right after Shay Given and Adebayor publicly called him a terrible coach. This week even Manchester City's kitman blasted Mancini on the newspapers.

By the way, it was his birthday yesterday, so, happy birthday, I suppose. Please don't talk about Inter.
