As far as I remember, Kondogbia and Imubla were Inter's solutions to Mancini's request for Yaya Toure. Mancini wanted Yaya, Dybala, Perisic, Miranda, Kolarov, etc. From what I have seen of Mancini in the last 2 decades as a coach, he has a good clarity about how he wants to play and who will be best suited for it. You could point out a few mistakes in transfers, but overall he has proved to be a good judge of talent and wherever he goes he improves the transfer strategy. Mancini has limitations, but this isn't one of them.

Apparently Mancini wanted Kolarov as well, he's been terrible for Roma.

Credit to him for his accomplishment getting Italy through in style, the only problem is that he got the country's hopes up and if fails he's going to be hit.
